Started well, ended badly.

We were greeted by Juliette at reception and she was very helpful, spoke very good English and very polite. Room was of a reasonable size, bathroom was clean and well appointed. We requested an outside table for our dinner reservation as we were travelling with our dogs. We were greeted at the restaurant by a chap and rushed into the inside seating area. When I asked for a table outside, his response was (NOT POSSIBLE)....... I explained that we requested an outside table when we made our reservation and again were told (NOT POSSIBLE, THEY ARE ALL RESERVED). When I explained that we should have a table reserved outside, he stormed off leaving us standing in the restaurant. He then pulled a table from a row of 3, threw 2 chairs and 2 menus at it and stormed off. I immediately complained to reception who seated us elsewhere and ensured we had a different server, but by then the damage was done, our stay was totally ruined. Being treated like that in a restaurant I am paying to eat in is unacceptable. This individual has no place being front of house with an attitude that quite simply stinks.

Perfect stay for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings and the wild life. Our room was beautifully decorated and the facilities were excellent. There wasn’t a fridge but that didn’t matter. We had a room with a terrace overlooking the last hole of the golf course.

Hotel part of golf club. Small rooms for two people no fridge no tv working Meant to be 4 stars it’s not Breakfast tea not provided only earl grey. If you ask you get one tea bag and have to pay for more No milk provided you have to ask. No suitcase stand Big shower really nice Food. We were in a group tour good starter main meal chicken with six potatoes no veg Nice dessert Staff stressed place full of other parties Morning breakfast crowded again staff stressed out did not answer your questions so understaffed for the amount of people Bar area taken up with golfers no seating away from bar. Outside area good if sunny. Would not give this 4 stars.

This is the review we sent to the hotel and their reply. We have stayed at this hotel and other Mercures, Novotels, Sofitels many times. We would think twice about staying agin because of the sheets-in a four star hotel. "Staff were charming, particular on Saturday night the receptionist and the Barman. Restaurant was ok-not gastronomic but acceptable. We had to hunt for "english breakfast" tea the following morning. Bedroom had neither a safe nor a fridge (Novotel in Limoges has as does or did the Mercure in central Orleans). The Aircon sort of worked but opening the window was more effective. Bed was very Comfortable in theory BUT and it is a VERY BIG BUT our bottom sheet was some plasticky PAPER composite that came off the mattress easily, tore and was thoroughly uncomfortable. When it came off I realised at about 5 am I was sleeping on the nylon topped mattress itself which is not hygenic for me or subsequent guests. The duvet cover and the underlying sheet were cotton so why was the bottom sheet this paper composite. If this is now standard Accor policy to use paper sheets then we sadly will not stay at this hotel again or indeed any other Accor hotel using paper sheets. This is a four star hotel after all!!!! It is important that we now know what Accor's policy is on this. Please reply. I have held off putting up a trip advisor review until I get an answer. Regarding bedding and as my colleague explained to you when you left, the fitted sheet is a disposable sheet ( not paper) to protect the mattress and brings a "more" hygiene. You then have the top sheet and the duvet. I make a point with the room service regarding the proper placement of the mattress. I am still sincerely sorry if the bedding equipment did not suit you. Beautiful hotel and grounds.We had a one night stopover at this lovely hotel en routeto the Dordogne area.It is in a beautiful setting and the hotel is of good quality, the rooms being nicely furnished ,the hotel staff friendly and the restaurant very good. Could have spent more time here
