I went on 4D4N holiday in Sofitel baru myself and the staffs made the stay so enjoyable. You may find your room got cleaned 3 times a day. I went to fitness class couple of times and instructor Grtaldine is very motivating. She teaches both functional training and stretching classes. The restaurant Humo is a must try, with Peruvian Asian cuisine made with Colombian ingredients. Chef Sebastian worked in Maido before, one of my fav restaurants. I also went on scuba diving and subwing experience. Scuba diving instructor Kevin and subwing instructor Gey Rodriguez are both professional and helpful in taking videos/pics for me. I also participated in pizza making and ceviche making class by chef Diego and Juan. Both sessions are interactive and fun, and understand the ingredients & process for the dishes. Lastly the bar tender with biggest smile Jesi helped a lot in translating Spanish vs English for me and he made great lulo cocktail!

Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Baru! We travel a lot and this was a real unexpected gem. Some logistical concerns prevented me from rating our stay 10/10. These are easy fixes, so I genuinely hope management take these into consideration. 1. Designate an Adult's Only Pool - It would be nice to have an area for adults to retreat without the excitement (or dismay) of little ones. 2. A Ferry/Excursions to the rest of Baru or other Rosario Islands - I do think the fact that the only way to leave the resort is to hire a private charter should be explicitly communicated in all marketing. We had to miss a reservation because the cheapest option to get 20min away was $754.00 USD!! 3. Provide an App for Activities - We never actually found or participated in any activities. The few offered were not even known about by the staff. 4. Provide sanitizing wipes or spray in the gym. I was surprised nothing was provided and therefore no guests were able to sanitize the equipment after using. 5. Concierge/Front Desk More Responsive - This actually made us leave on a sour note. After settling up at the front desk, the agent told us she would have someone come to our room at 11:50am to assist with our bags and drive us down to the dock for our 12pm catamaran back to Cartagena. At 11:50 no one came. I called both the front desk and concierge for 10min straight and no one ever answered. Afraid we would miss the boat, I literally had to run up the hill to the main lobby and two employees were just standing at the concierge talking. Dripping in sweat and unfortunately delaying other guests was not a pleasant way to leave paradise.

Our stay at the hotel was a thoroughly delightful experience that exceeded my initial expectations in several aspects. However, there are areas that could be enhanced. Here's a detailed breakdown of our experience: Positives: 1) The hotel's property is modern and well-maintained. 2) Its secluded bay location is a definite highlight. 3) Restaurant Humo is outstanding; the food quality and service are excellent. 4) Carlos, the concierge, is exceptionally helpful, efficient, and friendly. 5) Breakfast offered a great variety of options. 6) The catamaran transportation provided by the hotel was both efficient and scenic. Areas for Improvement: 1) Unfortunately, the experience at Calablanca Restaurant did not meet the high standards set by the rest of the hotel. Both the food quality and service were noticeably poorer than at Humo. 2) The presence of persistent street vendors on the beach was intrusive and detracted from the otherwise serene environment. It would be beneficial if the hotel could restrict their access to the beach. 3) My experience with the beauty salon service was disappointing. My manicure and pedicure appointment was mishandled twice—first a no-show without prior notification, and on another occasion, the staff left for lunch during my scheduled time, again without prior notification. 4) There is inadequate noise isolation between rooms. During our stay, we were disturbed by guests arguing loudly at 6-7 am on two separate mornings, which significantly disrupted our sleep. With improvements in these areas, the hotel has the potential to deliver an exceptional guest experience across the board.
