We had visited the property earlier in 2024 so we felt that we knew what to expect and were looking forward to coming back. However, our most recent visit was surprisingly even better and it is clear that Raffles has not stood still in this time period. The boat ride to the island was very comfortable and the drivers Ranjit Singh and Ram Lal were both very knowledgeable about the resort and the surroundings. The security at the Lakeshore (Dilip Choudhary) and the resort (Mr. Ramesh) were always welcoming and attentive. The front desk staff made our check-in extremely nice and surprised us with a cake for my birthday. Ankit checked us in and Jinty took us to the room and was our go to contact for the duration of the stay. She was extremely kind and efficient and even helped us out while she had left for the day. Really amazing dedication and made us feel very special. The room itself was brilliant and the attention to detail and the small things was really wonderful. We must mention the leaf art messages done by Kunwar Pal ji to help us continue with the celebrations and the prompt and wonderful butlers who took care of anything that we needed. Special mention must also be made for the tea (in the form of tea leaves and not dipping sachets) that we had almost every day that we were there. The black out curtains and sound proofing on the windows was perfect and helped us get a good nights sleep every night, irrespective of any light or noise outside. The food during all our meals was outstanding. We ate at the Long Bar and the Patisserie. Chef Saumya took great care of us with the Asian cuisine. Chef Ajay and Chef Rohit Bhandari (most amazing knife skills with the avocado toast) were ever present during breakfast. The food quality was really good. Kudos to Ravindra ji (F&B Manager) as well as Surendar Singh ji (Beverage manager). The staff at both places was alert, polite and always spot on with their recommendations. In the Long Bar, Anugraha, Rohit, Ayush and Vishal helped us reserve tables, recommended drinks and dishes and even take photos while waiting for the meal. In the Patisserie Pradip (amazing with his recommendations and portion sizing guidance), Suchna, Karan and Akshan Bisht were ever-present. Kudos to Yash and Sachin for keeping things running so smoothly and efficiently and specially was encouraging us to sit outside for dinner so that we could enjoy both the weather and the performances without feeling cold. Vishal ji was superb when we visited the pool and spent the morning in the cabana. Abhay and Ram in the gym were always there watching over me during my workouts. Keyi and Jess were our therapists during our spa treatment and were both very good. The treatment room was also spacious and completely sound proof (Important as there were wedding preparations happening outside the room). Only problem was that we had to go to the gym to use the steam and sauna and that meant taking all our stuff and walking outside in the cold in the bath robes. Ankit and Divyanshu made sure that the check-out procedure was quick and efficient (this had been a problem during our first visit) and a big thank you to Ankit for always being there when we needed anything. We were really sad to be heading back home and look forward to our next visit to Raffles Udaipur!
