We have just returned from another wonderful stay at the Pullman Rotorua. We choose to have a room with a lake view, and it never disappoints. My husband is in a wheelchair, and all facilities at the hotel work so well for us both. A special mention must go to Tracey and her team at the Barrel & Co restaurant on site - lovely food, and super friendly team who went above and beyond in a very subtle way to ensure we had a great experience. Having said that, all touchpoints throughout the stay were good. We will certainly return.

Unfortunately I was so disappointed that I only stayed the first night and went elsewhere for the remained of my stay. Check in was great however the lights in the bathroom did not go and the noise from outside was very loud. I decided to dine in at the restaurant which was regrettable. My partner and I both ordered the eye fillet with one being blue and one medium rare. When they arrived the blue one was great however the medium rare had been cut in half so ended up being more like a minute steak than an eye fillet. Yet it was also still blue. The potato side was dry which lead me to believe it may of been from a previous night and re heated. The veg was somehow over cooked yet still cold. Definitely not what I have come to expect from a Pullman restaurant. On my arrival I was told that I had been upgraded to my booking now including breakfast. However when we arrived at 630am I was made to feeling like I was lying and told that the reception got it wrong. I was so embarrassed that we decided to continue to have breakfast before we went. The wait staff on was quite rude about the not included breakfast that once we had agreed to have breakfast she then tried to show me how a buffet breakfast works. I was so embarrassed that I said not to worry as I have had many Pullman breakfast in the past. Despite arriving just after breakfast was open the bacon was cold and eggs as well. The juice was not easy to find and when I asked the waitress were the juice was she quickly replied that she was going to show me on the tour. I am so disappointed in this stay. As soon as breakfast was finished we left the hotel and went elsewhere for the remainder of our stay with my husband checking us out a few days later. It was at this point he was informed of an upgrade fee that needed to be paid. As I had organised everything he felt that they must be correct and agreed to have it deducted from my card. I had bought and paid for this stay via my Accor app and no monies was owing. I had to take time out of my day to ring to sort it out. Truly disappointed

I have stayed in many five star hotels all over the world and this is not one of them. It is more like three star at best. Check in was swift and we man handled our luggage to a very average room. The only staff that were pleasant and actually spoke during our four night trip were the breakfast waiting staff. The staff on reception were really busy having conversations between themselves to notice guests coming and going throughout the day. One day the maid cleaned our room and we came back to find the toilet roll was missing. I had also left the shower gel in a prominent position as it was empty. Said maid had just put the shower gel back without filling it up. I have never had to ask for a toilet roll in a five star hotel!!! The decor is old and the floor in the restaurant was peeling and bald in places. We had originally booked to eat at Barrel &Co but cancelled after seeing the restaurant. Breakfast was okay I especially liked the tinned fruit as it reminded me of growing up in the 70s! This is a very expensive hotel for a poor experience!
