Enjoy my stay at swissotel Grand Shanghai. Location was good as is near to Jingan Metro. Room size are decent. However, design and furniture are dated but overall clean. Quite disappointed though as I dint get a room upgrade despite being a gold accordion member. Special shoutout to the concierge team - Chris and team for the awesome service. Thanks and will be back again for sure if I visit Shanghai.

We booked a few rooms in this hotel. Our room has the smallest beds and i barely fit. Other rooms have a twin bed. Ours, i think is smaller than single. Internet connection is bad. Almost useless. Aside from being intermittent, i cannot open most apps and websites using the hotel's wifi.

Excellent location near Jing’an Temple. Close to transport links and some really nice restaurants. We had an executive club room which was very comfortable and had excellent city views. Executive club was welcoming but the food was a little disappointing. Breakfast in the main restaurant was pretty good but not exciting. Swimming pool was nice and also quiet. Staff were very helpful.

One of the worst experience we experienced in a 5-star hotel. 1) We are used to booking executive rooms when we travel to have the flexibility of taking a break mid day during our travels. When checking in, we were told that although the room we booked is an executive room, we are only entitled to one use of the executive lounge per day (one use per day so effectively we can’t even go together). This is despite the room being SGD100 more per night compared to the same room without the “executive benefits”. That same benefit of one use of the lounge is only worth 150RMB or approximately SGD28. When we highlight this absurd pricing model to the front desk, the gentleman just told us that the pricing is set by another department and there is nothing they can do. 2) When our friends staying in another room checked in, they gave them a room that is already occupied (see photo). Thank god the occupants are not in when our friends opened the door. I can’t imagine someone walking in on us in our room when we are not fully dressed. Or if a less than honest person were given access to a room and took off with the valuables of the occupants. 3) Cleanliness is severely lacking for a hotel of this level. There were quite a few toilet flies in the bathroom and we found long hair left by the previous occupants on the shower head. All in all, while the location is perfect, I will recommend staying in one of the many 5-star hotels in the vicinity instead of here. Everything from cleanliness, service and simple security is extremely lacking.

Every time I come to Shanghai for a business trip, I always choose Swissotel grand shanghai which has an excellent geographical location and high cost-effectiveness. The service attitude is very good, and there is a family mart nearby which is very convenient. The surrounding commercial district and subway station are very convenient. The room is fully equipped with various types of pillows to choose from. I am very satisfied!
