Used to be a nice hotel, but everything has changed. We are not coming back.

We have been staying in this hotel for a total of 10 times over the last five or six years. This is a hotel we have been coming back to every time. Both the location has been perfect, and the service has always been top. This time something has changed. We noticed it when checking in the first evening. Because we were Accor gold holders at the time of check in we were offered an upgrade to executive room and floor. We accepted this on the condition that this room was like the one we already ordered. Which was confirmed. It turns out that there is no difference between executive rooms and classic rooms, other than that these rooms are on the fifth floor. The only real difference is that you get access to the executive lounge when staying in an executive room. But here is the snag: when you are upgraded, you don’t get access. You only get the room, which is the same as every other room facing the garden. same amenities, same location. same size. So bear in mind that if they offer you an upgrade this is just bogus. You won’t get any upgrades really. It’s like putting you in business class in a flight with economy food. We have been staying here many times, and our stay is always a week or more. Earlier we have been recognized as such, and there has always been a small token of this in the room like cheese, fruits or a bottle of wine. This time - nothing. Furthermore, we have always felt that we are staying in the luxury hotel. But the service this time is just bad. There are a few things they do that. I do not understand, for instance, that they try to get into the room twice a day to service. Should be a note to hang on the door to say that you don’t want to room service without using the do not disturb, but there was no such thing in the room. so we used to do not disturb sign, and every time we did this there was a note written rather aggressively that they didn’t get into the room. The times that they did get in, they didn’t replace water, coffee or anything. We had to call and get those things sent up. Another thing is that we realized that the cleaning staff actually go through our Private stuff, move them around add arrange them as they wish. We actually don’t find this OK. Upon arrival, there was an issue with the water in the shower, merely dripping and not running properly. After a few days, the toilet started running uncontrolled. So we called maintenance to fix both things, turns out what they did was turn off the water to the toilet and didn’t touch the shower. It was quite a surprise to come to the toilet, do your stuff and find that the water has been shut off. Took the maintenance guy about 45 minutes to fix it. We used to think that the spa and work out area was really good. The quality of this hasn’t changed, but a couple of times now we have had happened to us that they give us a locker, and they take note of which locker they give us. While we are in the spa, they empty the locker and lock it. at one time, I actually had it happen that another guest had gotten my locker, and all my belongings included credit cards and phone was taken out and given to the reception. They have no explanation whatsoever why this happened. The staff in reception used to be very helpful and polite, but this time I felt that we were more of a nuisance than actually guests at the luxury hotel. We took it up with the manager on duty, but it was no help. We got a nonsense answer About them taking everything seriously and that was it. By the way, take a look at the complaints on TripAdvisor. Every single one is answered by stamped statement saying that they reg that they didn’t fulfill our wishes and look forward to see us again. The exact same words that we got as response in our email. Finally, a little warning. You may be tempted to help yourself to a small bottle of wine from the minibar in the room. This 0.375 L bottle of red wine local produce will cost you €55, around US$60. The same wine can be bought across the street for 170 Turkish lira , around 4 US$. I think this is the highest minibar price I’ve ever seen. It even beats Oman where it was quite expensive, but not like this. And finally a word to whoever reads this from the hotel: I would really appreciate if you either do not respond or respond with a real answer. If you only want to put a stamped answer like you do on everybody else, then please don’t bother. Anyway, we are not coming back to this hotel. Which is sad, because we normally go to about one or two times every year.

We would first like to clarify our approach to guest communication. While our responses on TripAdvisor may appear brief, this does not reflect the depth with which we handle guest concerns. In your case, we made a conscious effort to contact you personally in order to better understand your experience and help you feel valued. Following this, we also provided a detailed written response addressing each of your comments individually. The same personalized approach was taken during your stay, as we believe direct communication is always more meaningful than public, generic replies. Regarding the room upgrade, we sincerely apologize for any confusion created at the time of check-in. The Executive Room is considered an upgrade due to its location closer to the main building; however, we fully understand the impression this may have created. Taking this into account, and also in consideration of the maintenance issues experienced in your room, we provided complimentary Executive Lounge access as a gesture of goodwill. We regret that this benefit did not ultimately enhance your stay as intended. With respect to housekeeping, we would like to clearly state that our team never goes through or rearranges guests’ personal belongings. Only if personal items are placed on the bed may they be moved minimally and solely to allow the bed to be made. Other than this necessity, personal belongings are not touched under any circumstances. All our rooms are equipped with a “Skip the Clean” card located by the bedside. In addition, as part of our sustainability efforts, we regularly inform guests through in-room and public area screens about the option to decline housekeeping services without using the “Do Not Disturb” sign. During your stay, our team also attempted to reach you several times, including sending a message and personally visiting your room, in order to discuss your concerns directly and resolve them while you were still with us. Unfortunately, we were unable to connect with you at that time, which we truly regret. It is disappointing for us to learn that your long-standing perception of our hotel has changed, and we are sincerely saddened to hear that you will not be returning. Nevertheless, we thank you for your loyalty over the years and for sharing your feedback, which we continue to review carefully as part of our ongoing efforts to improve. We wish you all the best in your future travels.

Her zamanki gibi harika bir deneyim oldu, ama bu kez daha farklıydı. Odamızı upgrade edilmiş bulduk otele gelnce. Biz bahçe katı aile odası ayırtmışken, Executive katta deniz manzaralı bir oda verildi. Gerçekten çok güzel ve hoş bir sürpriz oldu bizim için.
