The hotel was fine, rooms were nice, common areas were gorgeous, but for a Fairmont and for the price, there wasn't really anything that WOWed me. Pool area is small and VERY tired as are all the lounges and chair pads. Beach area is VERY small and gets very crowded with small children in the water. Service was very average. I had to leave several notes over several days for the housekeeper to refill the shower soap....in the shower that was never cleaned the entire time we were there (same small pile of sand from inside a bathing suit remained there for 5 days!). I left my flat iron in the room. I called 2 hours after we checked out when I realized we had left it there and they said it wasn't there. Now, come on!

Returned to the Fairmont for first time in 13 years. 2 night stay. Amazing property as we remember. Stayed on Gold floor. Very nice lounge. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Areas to consider improving: Gym is small with a single broken peloton bike. Compare this with resort at Mauna Kea (which we stayed at for three nights before the fairmont) which had 9 working pelotons, 6 of these on an open air atrium. These bikes were all used consistently every day. Gold floor lounge was very nice and breakfast and canapes were very good. Consider a new policy for the honor bar. Complimentary limited daily beer and wine. Liquor could be restricted to the bar and restaurants.

Overall had a great stay, room and service were great, hotel staff very friendly. Haven't stayed at the property in many years, notably it's looking a bit tired with deferred maintenance (ie peeling paint, stucco coming off walls, etc) and poor groundskeeping, we were surprised at the poor condition of the lawns. Hotel needs a refresh!

Stayed for a conference. Enjoyed my time. Peaceful and relaxing. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast buffet at the orchid was delicious and our waitress was awesome. My only complaint is dinner at the Hale Kai. Understaffed. Waitress was serving front and back, could not accommodate our needs. Food was undercooked, bland, and overpriced. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Relaxing and working on the lanai with the waterfalls was one of my favorite parts. I am Kamaina and live on Oahu. I wanted to bring my dog but $75/night cleaning fee is quite much for a 12 pound Pomeranian Chihuahua who you wouldn’t even know is there. I believe $75 for a stay 4 days or less is much more reasonable. I would stay here more often if that was the case. Overall, very good stay.
