We had just spent a week with our kids and grandkids and coming to the Fairmont was just what these grandparents needed. Your grounds are the most beautiful we have seen in our travels. Sleep was a struggle because of the 3 hour time difference and no black-out curtains We sleep in 5--60 degree temps at night so it was a bit warm for us with the air conditioner only going to a low of 70. But, we would love to come back

We’re delighted that our grounds provided a relaxing setting after your week with family, though we are sorry that several aspects of your stay were not as comfortable as they should have been. Adjusting to the time difference is challenging, and we regret that the room temperature and lack of blackout curtains made restful sleep difficult. We do offer blackout curtains upon request, and we're sorry this wasn’t communicated during your visit. We also appreciate your comments about your dining experiences. While we're glad you enjoyed the oceanfront setting and service, we are sorry the dishes themselves—particularly the lobster rice, salads, and fish entrées—did not meet your expectations. We will be sharing your feedback with our culinary team for review. It means a great deal that you would still consider returning, and we would love the opportunity to welcome you back for a more comfortable and enjoyable stay. Unfortunately we didn'thave a great start with the hotel as we were not helped with our bags even with me trying to handle them plus our kids, and we're asked to move our car right away before check-in. Our initial room also had a flickering light. But the manager we spoke to understood and upgraded us to a beautiful more comfortable room which we very much enjoyed and apologized for the cold welcome. We also appreacited all the rental equipment at the beach and it's proximity to the hotel. The kids had a lot of fun there.

On the third day, I found out the front door did not close all the way and that I had slept basically with the door open all night. I called down to the front desk and the receptionist told me “our staff noticed last night that your door didn’t close, but since you raised no complaint we decided not to do anything about it.” I asked for the matter to be looked into and for a possible room switch. Neither happened after 6 hours and I had to go down to the lobby to repeat my request. I felt extremely unsafe by this event. What would Fairmont have done if someone had mistakenly come into my room and something happened to me?!

Regardless, the response you described is not the level of care or urgency we expect from our team, and we sincerely apologize that your concerns were not addressed promptly. You should never have had to follow up multiple times or feel unsafe in your room. Please know that we take your feedback seriously. We are reviewing this situation with our team to ensure that proper safety checks, communication, and follow‑through occur every time a guest raises a concern—especially one involving room security. We had a great couple of days. The resort was busy but never short of space to go.

We’re truly glad to hear you enjoyed your stay, even with the resort being busy, and we appreciate your kind words about our front desk team. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the challenges you faced at check‑in. Being directed to the Gold Lounge and then scolded for following that guidance is not the welcome we want for any guest, and we’re sorry for the confusion and discomfort it caused. We also apologize that your North Tower preference wasn’t honored upon arrival. While the Presidential Suite is a beautiful space, we understand it wasn’t the room or location you requested. We’re glad we were able to move you the next day, though we regret that the transition left you without a room for part of the day. Please know we’ve now added your North Tower preference to your profile so it can be prioritized for future stays.
