The Fairmont Orchid is an absolute beautiful resort. The staff works hard to make you feel welcome and keep the resort looking beautiful. I had paid for a partial ocean view but our room was on the farthest ground corner. With all the beautiful garden there was no partiial view of the ocean. Also we had an issue with our hot water. After 2 different requests to have the hot water fixed in the stand up shower it was finally fixed after a few days. It also took a very long time to get hot water running in the sinks. I felt like it was a unfortunate waste of water. Since most of the shopping area that can be accessed by the shuttle is very limited. Thus this brings me to the parking fee for rentals. If you want to see anything on the island or access other areas you need a car because Uber is not reliable. We tried to take Uber but it became very inconvenient. I loved my vacation and I wished the weather would have been better. I believe I did pick the right resort though. Thank you

Enjoyed the beach area, good snorkeling. Food was ok nothing superb. For the price I wished some amenities were included (1hr complimentary kayak/paddle/tennis racket) which other resorts include.

Despite the less than perfect weather, which impacted dining options on premise, we had a wonderful stay on our 12th visit to The Orchid. The staff was attentive and friendly as usual. We appreciated the complimentary upgrade to the ocean front suite in recognition of our loyalty. While the views were magnificent, I must admit that I preferred the decor of the ocean view suite. Our dinner at Brown’s was exceptional. Most of all, I loved the fact that there was only one noticeable group on property during our stay. Over the years, the thing that has negatively affected our stays at The Orchid has been the increase in guests that are part of a large convention group. In fact our only disappointment from this stay is that a large group booked the entire hotel and we had a shorter stay than we wanted.
