Lovely location with good rooms. Excellent staff and drink selection. As all inclusive guests we found the restaurant choices limited, and the evening at the palm terrace exceptionally poor.

We had a lovely stay in a luxury ocean room with a great balcony overlooking the see directly. We particularly enjoyed the Taboras restaurant with its fresh fish and vegetables. The pool was small but with great service and surrounded by all the gorgeous gardens. Our daughter also enjoyed the spa services.

Our first time at the hotel. Good value compared to other hotels in Barbados. Functional not sophisticated or glamorous. Staff friendly and generally efficient. Room was nicely positioned with good facilities.

We were disappointed by the overall experience and did not feel that Fairmont delivered a luxury resort experience. While the room was very nice and the view was wonderful, the resort seemed to be operating with too few staff, particularly at the concierge desk and at the restaurants. It shouldn’t take 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee and a cup of tea in the morning. Why send guests to lunch up at the beach where the water equipment is kept when no one is actually making the lunch there and there are no drinks to serve? Wheeling the food in from the other side of the resort makes no sense and two servers were stretched way too thin. In addition, there were too few lounge chairs at the swimming pool and the beach, and too few servers taking drink orders in either place. The staff who were working tried hard to keep up, but they have been put in a difficult situation. We appreciated how hard the front desk staff was trying to manage everything, but it’s clear that they were under water with numerous requests from guests. I’d also like to mention that it was impossible to reach the resort by telephone from the US ahead of our trip. It seems the system is designed to defeat, and even American Express struggled to reach a live human being when we learned that the resort had booked us in “twin” rooms, rather than the King rooms we had originally paid for.
