Fairmont Royal Pavilion 5 stars

Great welcome. Great staff. Room good despite the air conditioning which was annoying to keep dripping. Overall great. Tobias restaurant needs a lot of sorting out. Breakfast was at best ok. Cerial was stale. Food in the evening was very average but ok but the service really needs sorting out. Slow and not particularly friendly by the waitresses

Excellent Pool and Beach Staff

The experience was great. The location was ideal with beautiful beach. The food was excellent. Once again Renico was so helpful and great with the boys. He is truly a shining star and was exemplary in his care and service

Stayed at the property for 2 weeks in May. This was our 30th trip to the hotel over 20 years. Over this time, we've made a lot of friends at the hotel, both staff and guests. The main draw for us is the amazing views from the rooms. This trip we felt that the rooms require some refurbishment. The furniture was marked, scratched and cracked. The bathrooms haven't been renovated in the 20 years we have been visiting, and are in need of a revamp. The rooms are the main area requiring investment. I appreciate the property is one of the oldest hotels still operating on the island, but for the prices and the expected level of luxury, the rooms need an overhaul. I noticed in our room there was no standard lamp in the room, or radio clock alarm. I suspect this is because they have broken, and rather than repair or replace, they were just removed from the room. The house keeping staff do a great job keeping the rooms very clean (Roberta and Serena in particular). The staff in Taboras (Odwin, Tiffany, St Clair, Ralph etc) are friendly and good at what they do, as are the pool staff (Micheal, Shane and Kobe). The staff really do keep the place somewhere we want to continue to visit, but the owners of the property need to invest in refurbishment of key areas.

This is a hotel that we have stayed before and fully enjoyed the experience hence the re-booking. However, we didn't find the same this time. We felt that the room was tired and in need of refurbishment - the Palm Court Restaurant was closed after we arrived but were told it was open and made a booking for dinner which was cancelled and would be for one month so we hired a car and ate out most of the time. This is a hotel that we like and feel disappointed that it didn't meet our expectations. However, the staff were as ever very pleasant.
