Outdated large hotel that is NOT a 5 star resort!

This is by no means a 5 star resort. Perhaps 3 or 4 star! It may have been when built newly as the then 'Marjan Island Resort'. The facility is very dated and recently branded as Pullman. Although rooms are large and spacious, but furniture worn out and windows that need strong muscles to open and close. Very outdated room interiors, no modern amenities and very old fashioned TV with poor channels and no connectivity options etc. No coffee maker in room, just a kettle and tea bags… Bed quality was excellent though. Even though we were upgraded to a studio, there was no dressing table in the room and no work desk area. The so called 'resort' is of size of a large city hotel size with just 1 main pool, 1 indoor pool, a small healthclub, spa and 3-4 restaurants and kids club. Most facilities except pool remained closed or unattended during our stay for no obvious reason. Perhaps these are abandoned. And the timings are crazy – gym opens at 10 am, kids club closed at 7pm! Dinner starts from 7pm and breakfast starts at 7am! What is this? There is no green area on property, the adjacent board walk and lawn are not part of the property as such but just connected. There is small direct view of the open sea and the 'beach' is outside the property about 5 min walk away or you can take a free buggy ride. Food was very basic, we took half board and both dinner and breakfast were rather disappointing with very limited variety. There was not even hummus on dinner menu and most dishes were very very dry. Bakery items in breakfast were kind of hard. *Any reputed hotel brand will always give notice upfront before booking, if there is any service disruption or inconvenience due to engineering works etc around or in the hotel but Accor cheated us. The hotel as of Dec’24 is next to a construction site just adjacent and also on the sea side/ board walk, there is a large Wynn resort construction project which will go on till early 2027. The adjacent construction site is noisy at least for west wing rooms. This large site across the sea distorts the whole peaceful vibe of the sea for night or morning walk due to strong lighting and work 24/7 although it has no noise impact. Apart from this, the main entrance to hotel has a detour and road being constructed which result in noise/dust blowing up to rooms directly above the entrance side. Also there was no mention upforont that the kids club activities are non-existent. It only gave look of an abandoned village. Location would have been great when built but recent developments on the Island means this location is not peaceful now and for next few years to come. The service was only exception as the staff were very courteous and catered to all our needy with a speedy and friendly service. Everyone greeted us with a smile and service standard is excellent but unfortunately that cannot change the other hard facts.

It wad a family trip for a week and feel good with a fun and relaxed atmosphere to the see and beach food is very tasty and variety of drinks and beverages are good we were in the suit room with balcony good clean rooms and carpet with good smelling all staff we like during our stay but Majid did good smelling and serving us daily in the room to provide all the needful during our stay we will stay back soon

Amazing service i had a big group so i communicated with different teams staring with Mohamed nabil , Omer , ksenia , hussam and Alexandra them dealing with Terill restaurant manager who is so professional along with his team angelica and zeshan and others chefs and don’t want to forget the people who is behind like Elena who will leave and it was bad news because she is very nice person but happy that mustafa joined the team and did great job in handling the group. And finally I was so nice to see the GM helping in the valet really i felt they are doing family business not people working and doing their job only great job guys keep it up and I’m sure that your management appreciate your efforts. Sorry if i missed anyone everyone was so helpful.
