I enjoyed my stay at the Mercure Hotel, which is conveniently located near Tasmania University, Kmart, a supermarket, restaurants, and coffee shops. The staff were very friendly, and the reception area was always welcoming. Despite the hot weather, the team consistently greeted guests with warm smiles, making my experience even more enjoyable. However, since there is no direct elevator access to my room, I found it difficult to carry my bag up the stairs, especially in such hot weather. I hope you can improve this situation to make it more convenient for guests. Additionally, I noticed stains in the toilet near the upper area when I entered the room. I would appreciate it if you could improve the cleanliness, especially in a place like the bathroom, where high cleanliness standards are essential to prevent the spread of germs.

The staff who checked us in and out were very professional and helpful through out the process, but the staff when we returned to collect our bags after the hotel stored them for a few hours were not professional. Whilst the young lady that went to get our bags was very good, there were 2 other staff members complaining to each other about another staff member, and they weren't holding back, calling her lazy and negative

A good experience was overshadowed by a bad one

Thorough cleaning of rooms needs to be addressed. Get down, look up, look under. In short, the toilet had not been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. This was evident in the accumulation of grime under the cells. I made mention of this to the front desk as there were no cleaners around. Upon our return from exploring I checked the toilet and an attempt had been made to clean it but it was still obvious and remained that way for the rest of our stay. I have photos before and after the cleaning attempt. No apology was offered except it was bad. To top everything off we found a pair of sunglasses under the bed that were not ours, I handed them in when we checked out. Get down, look up, look under. For Mecure or indeed anybody this is unacceptable
