Mama Shelter Lyon 2성

Booked this hotel as a quick stopover on a train journey to Barcelona. It’s a 10 min taxi ride from the station and even on a Sunday night the restaurant had a good vibe to it with live music playing. I am a vegan 🌱 and whilst there was nothing on the menu for me, after negotiation the chef managed to conjure up a delightful three course meal which I could enjoy along with my 3 friends. I spoke to the delightful manager or ‘mama’ as she introduced herself, in the morning. She used to manage the restaurant and said that they would now be putting vegan dishes on the menu as the kitchen already has all the ingredients anyway. It would be great if this was repeated across the Mama Shelter chain. The rooms were small but functional. Beds are comfortable and good to see them taking the lead with a shampoo, body wash, soap bar in cardboard packaging. I’ve heard the chain will hopefully go plastic free soon. To be sustainable they need to raise the profile of plant based food also. The TV system was great with loads of free movies 🎥 🍿 available to watch in different languages.

Very much enjoyed our stay here - nice hotel, bar, restaurant and breakfast was good. The location is not central but it is in an area that has good bars, restaurants and is a very quick journey to the hotel dieu.

Hello, I need to share that sadly MamaShelter in not suited for internal business travelers. The hotel has no travel plug-adaptors to lend, the staff sends you off for a 30 minute walk ride to go buy one, and when I returned, i actually saw in one of the hotel "items to sell list" that they actually sell these right at the reception desk... Which means the staff is not even trained to support such requests. When I gave them feedback, they barely apologize too. I will not chose this hotel next time I come for work in Lyon.

Due to bad weather conditions and amazing traffic jams we decided to make a stop o in Lyon. Without reservation we popped up at the reception of the mama shelter in Lyon and we were lucky as there were some free rooms. The check in was performed by a very friendly and polite guy and we feel more than welcome….. the room was directly available and was great. Once installed we went down to the restaurant which was more than full and overbooked. Luckily we get 2 places on the bar and we had a great dining experience in a more than trendy and lounge atmosphere…..great dinner and cocktails, all was more than perfect! The same for the day after for the breakfast….. All in one we did not regret our choice and we can more than warmly recommend this hotel as well the restaurant of the hotel! Excellent value for money!

Stayed with the family, Check in , not very pleasant. , Cleanliness of the room is very very questionable. Parking, have to pay extra and very uncomfortable, small. Bar trendy, cool, live music. Breakfast was good, all you need., probably the best part of the stay. Would, i go back? probably no.
