Good hotel to stay in for access to the south of France

This is a conveniently located hotel if you’re looking to explore the south of France. About a seven minute walk from Nice central station, and also reasonably well situated for trams to Nice airport and other parts of the city. The room size was a pleasant surprise for an Ibis Styles. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had adequate shelf space, and there’s a chair and a thin, hospital-style table on wheels. There was even a small balcony overlooking the courtyard adjoining the restaurant. Breakfast was good. The orange juice is freshly squeezed. The only hot options are boiled eggs. Apart from that, there was the usual - bread, a range of teas, two coffee machines, cold meats, preserves, and so on. The breakfast room is quite large and was it was never a problem finding a table at between 7.30 and 8am. Also, it might have been the quietest hotel breakfast room I’ve been in! Barely heard anyone say a word. There are two elevators, as far as I know, not close to each other, which means you have a choice, depending on where on a given floor your room is, to take the one that means less walking. There is a Lidl supermarket around the corner, but it’s usually crowded and the staff is surly. There are Carrefours and Monoprixes a little further away. Overall, given the amount of space in the room, the use of it is somewhat inefficient. I’d have liked a little more shelf/rack space. The wardrobe is basically just one tall compartment with some tiny shelves projecting outwards to its sides. The curtains in my room were barely the width of the windows when drawn all the way across. So if you’re someone whose sleep is disturbed by light, you might want to bring an eye mask. Apart from that, the room was good for sleeping in. There was no noise from the corridors or the courtyard.

Really great choice - excellent stay

Liked · Excellent choice if you expect to do any excursions by train as only about 300 meters (0.2 miles) from the train station, although a bit uphill. Beds were a bit hard for me although my wife thought they were fine. Otherwise comfortable, clean roomy, and modern, with a single desk-like chair. Elevator was handy. Very nice hot/cold breakfast - a wide choice of items so well worth the extra charge. Free snacks, coffee, and water filling station in the lobby, as well as some free games like foosball and an electronic game - free popcorn in the afternoon. Staff very nice and helpful, and most spoke english. Hotel on a main street but about a kilometer to the Promenade. A lot less touristy and beachy than further in but a nice safe area. Decent restaurants nearby. Would reserve again. Disliked · Not much to dislike. Only wished they ha better seating in the room, especially considering there was the space. Should be more than one hard metal seat for a two person room.

Really enjoyed my stay . Good location , nice breakfast for the hotel type , modern decor and all necessary facilities ( thanks for refillable water). One draw back is the temperature control - well the lack of as my room was boiling despite switching off the aircon and leaving the door open . It is facing the sun and room gets so hot . Your website advertises this hotel has climate control for guests however it is not the case - the system is seasonal and the guest doesn’t have any control over. One amazing part of my stay was meeting Lea at Reception . Really nice and genuine lady . Made my stay so pleasant . Very helpful and offered so much info that helped us to enjoy Nice ! Thank you

The design of the washing basin next to the wall-mounted hair dryer is poor, making it difficult to wash my face. The lack of amenities like a toothbrush and electric kettle is disappointing and should be mentioned on the website. The location and pricing of Ibis Styles Nice Centre Gare are reasonable, but the reception staff could be more welcoming, and I won't return due to the unwelcome atmosphere. Additionally, if you need bedroom slippers, you must ask at thr reception. If you're traveling light, there's an affordable laundromat across the road, so you don't need to bring many clothes.
