Great base for Barcelona

Located at the Av. Diagonal and Carrer del Bruc corner, the hotel is in an excellent location to use as a base to explore Barcelona. Well served by public transport, we chose to walk to all the places we visited. There were also multiple good restaurants within close proximity to the hotel. Check in was fast and the room we were allocated was relatively spacious compared to other Ibis’s I’ve stayed at especially the bathroom. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to ensure guests were comfortable. I liked the security control at the hotel with entrance limited to those with a security card. For check in, just ring the bell to be allowed into the hotel.

Standard Ibis Hotel. Clean and tidy. We had a front corner room which may have been a bit bigger than others. Standard breakfast. Lovely girl working the cafe always smiling and saying hello. Only problem was a toilet roll. We had half a toilet roll left and expect at least one new roll but a second, half empty toilet roll was left for us. Never had this before in any hotel in the world. Quick complaint and 2 new rolls delivered to room. Coffee machine and drinking water in the lobby, but staff grudgingly give out coffee pods. Metro across the road, bus stops very near and HOHO tourist buses 10 minutes walk.

We regret if your experience with our staff was not as you expected, and we hope you accept our most sincere apologies. We much appreciate your nice comments regarding the friendly staff of the breakfast service and Jose, our night receptionist. We will not hesitate to congratulate them for being so welcoming and nice. We are so sorry to hear that a part of the staff wasn’t as friendly as Jose and the ladies of the breakfast. Probably, there was a misunderstood because the whole staff uses to be friendly, nice, polite and welcoming. You just need to read the overall experience of other guests. If you are staying in Barcelona - STAY HERE!

We arrived late to the hotel, after 1am & informed reception in advance. Check in was quick and reception very friendly. Breakfast had a good choice, eggs, 'hot dog' sausages, meats, cheeses, cake, fruit and lots of pastries. Good choice on the coffee machine too. FREE Wi-Fi & perfectly positioned. 10 minute walk to Sagrada Familia, 25 minute walk to Las Ramblas and a short taxi to the cruise terminal with Bolt (cheaper than Uber) & costing less than 10 euros each way for 2 people with luggage. Javier stored our luggage in the luggage room so we could experience Barcelona & special mention to Javier for helping with this. Overall a 5 star experience & would definitely recommend.
