We had a few days stay in Berau and could not have been happier with the Mercure. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, clean and well sized with nice stylish finishes. The staff, from the checkin staff, cleaners, restuarant and everyone else are super friendly and helpful, especially for those like me whose Bahasa is terrible. You have everything you need in the facilities and the breakfast and dinner options are varied and delicious. The staff will help with all your needs. If staying in Berau this is the only place to stay. Stop reading and start booking!

The staff is very friendly and helpfull especially when i was in trouble. Quick in respond eventhough they have many guests coming over. The room is very cozy and comfortable. The food is also very tasty and have many variations. The best hotel in town

I stayed for 9 nights, and some of the breakfast and food items were stale and unpleasant tasting. Room supplies such as cool bars, coffee, and toothbrushes were incomplete. On several occasions, housekeeping staff refused to provide these items, stating that they were only for the beginning of the stay. Housekeeping requests were very difficult to fulfill, requiring multiple requests and taking several hours to arrive. Laundry was dropped off in the morning but not delivered until the evening, disrupting sleep and sometimes affecting the next day. The receptionist and staff were unfriendly. The pool was unclean, and many people were smoking around it, making it uncomfortable for sports activities and children. I was once refused a ride to the parking lot by the valet or security staff. There are still a few more complaints I’m too lazy to write about.
