Paulo services were excellent. We had an incredible moment with our family in the Novohotel Botafogo restaurant. Paulo was essential to create this fantastic atmosphere. Congratulations!

Good lunch buffet experience, they serve feijoada on Fridays and we were lucky to get catered by the waiter called Ze Carlos, an very empathic and cheerful lad!

Location - Perfect location for Botafogo as it is right opposite Sugar Mountain and the wonderful coastal promenade to Famengo. Noise level - I experienced no issues and set towards the back of the hotel I had little road noise or noise from other patrons. Cleanliness - No complaints, common areas spotless including the public bathroom. Rooms cleaned (floors not always)bedding refreshed. Atmosphere - a little rigid and business like but that’s expected from a large chain. Rooms - This depends on your actual room as forward facing rooms get the view of sugar mountain whereas other room may get a view of the neighbouring buildings wall. Gym - Excellent. good mixture of free weights and cardio machines and they actually work! Multigym is decent.. all in all there is enough to keep ticking over. Restaurant - friendly and attentive staff (especially Paolo who has excellent English and hospitality skills). Evening menus has a mix of cuisines but surprisingly no Brazilian specialities? Breakfast is excellent (apart from the coffee but that’s a common issue n Brazil), lunch is buffet style and this is where you will find a taste of Brazil with the various stews and pastries. 24 hr security and the door and I never did see those guys slacken off for a minute, always on their feet and ever so aware of who is coming and going. Value - This depends on what you personally value and the room you have and whether you include breakfast or not. For this area of Rio, its location and for the services I used, I found it good value for money but that is compared to my global experience as this is my first stay in Botafogo and Brazil.
