We loved this hotel and will definitely be back next time we are catching a ferry from Cherbourg. The rooms are spacious and bright with floor to ceiling windows giving amazing views over the fishing harbour. The breakfast is excellent and the prices in the bar and restaurant are very reasonable if you don't fancy venturing into town or if you are there on a Sunday or Monday when most other restaurants in Cherbourg are closed. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and helpful and the cleaning team are phenomenal- they keep the whole hotel absolutely spotless. The free car park directly behind the hotel is a real asset too.

It was very handy having free car parking for this hotel. We were upgraded for free to a junior suite on the 5th floor which had fantastic views over the Bassin du Commerce. It was a good base to visit Cherbourg before returning to the UK by ferry. The location was a short walk from the fantastic fish restaurant we had booked (Le Clopoing) and which we could also see from our suite. Being a large corner room, we had good floor space, an excellent shower and large bed. Our only comment would be the quirky layout of the toilet being around the corner from the bathroom and sink.

The best ever welcome at this Flagship Mercure in Cherbourg in a Sparkly Christmas Wonderland

Always such a pleasure to come to this Hotel. The best ever welcome and very well decorated for Christmas. I have visited many Hotels and this one wins this Christmas! Congratulations. I have known the head receptionist for years and it was such a pleasure to see her again. Thank you a special commendation to you and all the team for such a great welcome and a very nice room indeed. I love the new eco additions and appreciation for the world be using sustainable products and less plastic. Other Hotels could learn from you! I would go as far as saying this is the Flagship Mercure. Other Managers should take note. Nothing was too much to ask, I needed some milk for the room so I phoned down and milk was instantly delivered at no extra charge - thank you. Great for my coffee. A wonderful Suite. So nice to come to France. I thought I must write a review as the whole team certainly deserve it. I can see how hard everyone has worked - I love the Christmas decorations! Amazing. Thank you

Relaxing break in a great locati9on

We spent one night in this hotel before taking the ferry back to Ireland. The hotel has reserved parking and is ideally located being very close to the ferry terminal while at the same time within easy walking distance of the town centre (with excellent shopping). in addition, just accross the square from the hotel there was a Carrefour Hypermarket so we were able to top up our supplies of beer, wine and other necessities. We were welcomed to the hotel by very friendly and helpful staff at reception who indicated where we could get a small meal close by as it was just outside the normal period for lunch. We stayed in a Junior Suite on the sixth floor which had an excellent view of the inner port area, where a nice Swedish sailing ship was berthed, as well as a view over the city centre. The room was comfortable with plenty of power points, comfortable bed and good shower. As we were tired, we decided to dine in the hotel restaurant that evening where we had a nice relaxing meal. All in all this was a most enjoyable experience.

Very pleasant three nights stay

Very comfortable, nice big bed, access througout for disabled very good, plesant staff throughout, very good breakfast choice. Very easy access to very large shopping complex next door no noise problem, main town just across a bridge from the hotel, great view from 5th floor bedroom overlooking the nice docks.
