We all have expectations on visiting a new important city as Riga and also our planned accommodation while there. The stunning frontage of The Pullman is fairytale. Step inside and you’re in another world. Architects produce imaginative statements of excellence and interior designers finish it off. But it’s the people that make The Pullman. As a seasoned world traveller and a global employer, it’s the people I notice. Here at The Pullman Riga, I have found exceptional service in terms of that very special listening quality. Nothing is too much trouble and that which hasn’t been thought of, as if by magic, happens within moments. An intriguing city , with a 1000 years wealth of history, scrupulously clean, maintained and managed with pride and skill. Riga is a delightful stay for relaxation and cultural enlightenment. All on the doorstep. Parks, fountains, benches everywhere, extraordinary buildings and that very valuable hard earned sense of public delight reflected by the locals’ warm welcome. I am delighted with The Pullman and everything about its exclusive excellence. Including the obvious level of luxury and that staff attention, much more than smiles, leaving me feeling protected, cared for, comfortable and special. They’re always looking out and listening. The hotel is very well located in the edge area of the old town. For instance the old town, the railway station, several parks and the canal area are within walking distance. We stayed for two nights in a Superior room which is a basic room in this hotel because we knew that we would not spend much time in the room. The room was clean and good size, had a very comfortable bed and was quiet. There were no views because the window is to a small atrium. The bathroom solution seemed a bit odd, because the sink is in the room. On the other hand there is separate shower and toilet which was practical for two people. The rain shower was nice and there was warm water almost instantly. Shampoo etc were available and the towels were large and thick. The breakfast in the hotel was very good. It was available until eleven, was not too crowded and had plenty of choice and good quality ingredients. We appreciated the possibility to leave our luggage in a locked luggage room because we arrived very early in the morning and left late in the evening. The service was friendly throughout.
