Can't get the basics right - avoid

I have stayed here 2 times as other hotel fully booked and on both occasions the key did not work for the door for over ten minutes. Most recently the key needed to be changed twice.. The staff are not as friendly/helpful as other hotels in area.

I have stayed regularly at this hotel over the past year, but I have certainly noticed a big improvement since Claire took over as the GM. The staff are all friendly and helpful and I have seen them go the extra miles try to make the stay as pleasant as possible, for myself and other guest during my stays.

Very Disappointing Stayover

On 21/05/24, We had a One night stay at this hotel for work purposes. On arrival, We were given room 207. Initially the room looked nice. Decent size room & bed, looked nicely decorated. Bathroom was nice with a good sized walk in shower. We however had the following issues. The TV wouldn't turn on but I noticed a cable lying on the desk next to the TV, I decided to plug it in & TV came on, however, you had to unplug it to turn TV back off. The ceiling above the wardrobe appeared to have had some kind of damage to it. The floor hadn't been fully hoovered or mopped as we had a lot of dust, as did the paintwork. The bathroom was much better but they had forgotten to replace the shampoo in the shower, not a big issue but it's these little things that should be checked. Finally, the bed was comfortable but the pillows were absolutely horrendous, it was literally like sleeping on a brick!!!! Breakfast was nice. Plenty to choose from. Hot selection plus toasts, crossiants, muffins, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit etc. It's a shame the room let our stay down. At £83, it's not cheap for a midweek stayover, it really has put us off booking here again.

2 nachten hier geslapen. het bed was goed en de kamer mooi schoon. De badkamer is enkele jaren geleden gerenoveerd, maar niet geheel zoals het hoort, daar er enkele tegels losliggen. Het ontbijt viel tegen, zeer beperkt kwa keus. Het avondeten was voldoende.keus, maar redelijk prijzig. Kortom de volgende keer zoek ik even verder

Dragen de ecologische footprint hoog in het vaandel, maar handdoeken worden toch vervangen ook als ik ze niet op de grond had gelegd. Andere keer wordt enkel het kleine handdoekje vervangen en wordt er geen grote handdoek voorzien. Vloer in de kamer was niet geswifferd bij aankomst (stofwollen en stukjes papier op de vloer en deze waren er na de 3 dagen die ik verbleven heb nog steeds)

The service we provide should be, if the towels are on the floor we change them if they are hung in the bathroom we do not change them. I am sorry you also had some debris on the floor, this should not have occurred and I will discuss further with the team.
