Good place to stay, excellent buffet breakfast. Bikes were great to ride, very well maintained. Live music in the bar was a nice touch.

Another comfortable stay - this is our 'go to' when traveling to New Plymouth, and this stay was just as good as any other one we've had. In fact, we both thought that the staff were particularly friendly and pleasant to deal with!

We booked the romantic getaway package as a special occasion, first night away from our son and a quick honeymoon. We didn't get any special treatment which were not upset about (however some years ago it wasn't even a special occasion and there was a nice swan on the bed and chocolates etc, something small would have gone a long way). We had a lovely meal everything was pared beautifully and well cooked, however, on my second to last bite of my dessert I found what appeared to be chicken gristle and was disgusted, we waiting a long time to be seen by a server to be able to tell them and eventually we got up and went to the bar and get a quick sorry and sent on our way (we also waiting 30 minutes from sitting down to getting our drinks and it wasn't busy). The room was nice and sizeable which is great. But after taking some time to get to sleep, the bedside alarm went off and woke my husband and I uo at midnight, of course we then struggled to get to sleep and had a terrible night. Breakfast was delicious the next day. Overall I would like the positives to shine through, but the two negatives were huge and I was disappointed that not even the concept of a free coffee was thought to be offered as a very small token of apologies.
