Das Sofitel Sentosa gehört zu den Hotels der Luxusklasse. Deshalb muss sich das Hotel auch mit anderen Luxushotels vergleichen lassen. Hier haben wir leider eine Reihe von Mängeln gesehen, die Sub-Standart für diese Kategorie sind, z.B. kein Gym im Haus, kein Shuttle/Transfer Service zum Flughafen, nur zwei Restaurants der Mittelklasse. Auch die Zimmer und die Einrichtungen am Pool und in den Restaurants sind alt, verwohnt, und zum Teil kaputt. Die Polsterbezüge in den Restaurants sind durch die Sonne verblichen und vor allem schmutzig. Das müsste dringend ausgetauscht werden. Insgesamt entspricht die Atmosphäre in den beiden Restaurants nicht einem Luxusstandart. Die Bestuhlung in beiden Restaurants ist Basic, die Beleuchtung im Frühstücksrestaurant, das abends als Zweitrestaurant fungiert, viel zu grell. Dadurch fühlt man sich eher in eine Kantine versetzt, als in ein 5-Sterne Hitel. Hier müsste deutlich in ein Upgrading investiert werden. Zusammengefasst, wir würden beim nächsten Singapur Trip ein anderes Hotel buchen. Das Sofitel auf Sentosa ist bereits mehr als 30 Jahre alt und braucht dringend ein Upgrade in die heutige Zeit von Luxus-Hotels.
