Comfortable stay, nice staff.
We stayed in room 215 (Superior room) for a few nights, room was very good, well equipped, great bathroom, great shower and efficient a/c. Bed was very comfortable. No street noise. Elevators, (there are two) of which one is exceptionally quaint and travels up through staircase. Bar is very eclectic with great choice of drinks including cocktails. Reception staff were excellent and made our stay even better.
Good quality proposition next to the historical centre and fashion stores
Highly recommended hotel with good location next to historical part of Paris and its fashion stores. Skilled and customer orientated personnel as well as good breakfast helped to stay positive during our journey.
Solid Property, Let Down by Poor Customer Service – Hint: Check your Bills
We spent a few nights in a Suite at the Hotel L'Echiquier Opera Paris. That was a bit of a disappointment overall. I waited 15 minutes to be checked-in, due to angry customers checking out with interestingly similar issues about overcharges. During the check-in process, I was not recognized as a top tier member (I am a Diamond Accor member). There was no welcome amenity (I did not bother asking). The minibar was empty the first day and magically went full on the second. I requested a late checkout over the phone on the day before we left, I was told "3PM". The next morning, asking for my room key to be reprogrammed, I am told "1PM". The lady I spoke to wasn't apologetic or did not try to help, I was only faced with: "Look at what's written on my computer". Then came checkout time, and I was having "deja vu". Some erroneous items added to my bill like breakfasts (I did not have breakfast on-site, on any day). All-in-all, the Hotel L'Echiquier Opera Paris is a solid property, but let down by poor governance/customer service. That is inline with previous feedbacks I could read here.

Family of four from UK. Stayed three nights. The bedrooms were small but entirely adequate. Good air conditioning - effective without being over powering. Good pillows. Lovely Clarins shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Proper hangers (unusual these days). Lovely tiling and fittings in the bathrooms. Powerful shower. Excellent breakfast. Lovely restaurant, beautifully decorated. Best of all was the flexibility of the staff. We had to change our booking twice because of Covid and on both occasions our changes were accommodated without a single quibble. Topping off this excellent service was a €100 reduction in our bill because instead of staying over New Year we stayed in July.
Bad start but very nice after that. Charming staff and excellent breakfast
We booked a suite which turned out to be not acceptable for an Accor hotel. The second room was just a large bed which could not be moved and the rooms needed refurbishment. We were relocated to adjoining interconnected rooms which were infinitely better. The ladies on reception were exceptionall helpful, as was the man who booked a trip for us. They should all be promoted. The breakfast was exceptionally good and a big surprise. We did have a coffee machine in the room as well. Personally we did not like the area which is on the outskirts of the main shopping area, a bit like being in a hotel just off Oxford Street. We would not stay in that area again but full marks to all the staff.
