Pros: - Very friendly and helpful staff, any questions we had they tried their best to help, provided us with a map of the city and how to get around. Helped book airport taxi. - Spacious room, with a good sized balcony. The room was one of the best we had, with access to an okay sized bathroom, table, kitchen area and a large double bed. - Good location for travelling into city, bus stops a couple minutes walk and a train station around the corner that will get you into the centre within 20 mins. You will need to use these, maps will say you’re only a 2 mile walk, but it is massively up/down hill and would take around 40 minutes to the centre. Cons: - Additional charges that aren’t used elsewhere, for example, fresh sheets and towels were additional extras (25+ €) and no coffee, tea or milk was provided, again, this was an extra charge also. We stayed for 5 nights so fresh sheets / towels would have been nice, without the additional charges. There was also a €50 deposit for the room, which I am yet to receive back. - Breakfast was nice, but very repetitive. The selection was the same most days, cereals, some cold meats, pastries and then some options from a continental breakfast. No issues with the quality but having breakfast there 5 times, it would have been nice to have other options like pancakes, porridge etc - Pool. This was the biggest issue of the lot for us, we spent quite a lot more money for a hotel with a pool, considering the weather forecast was 35 degrees all week. We had access to the pool for one day before it had to be shut down for ‘maintenance’ where we were told it was too hot for the pool to be used and too many people were using it and it wasn’t safe. This was heavily frustrating, as we would have chosen a closer hotel to the city centre if it hadn’t been for use of a pool to cool down with the heat. If you are booking for the pool, it may be worth contacting the hotel to see if you’ll be able to use it, especially as the location of the hotel is very quiet with nothing to do, the pool would have been ideal to kill a few hours before going out into the city, but without that option, you were left nothing else to do other than be in your room, or go back out, which in the heat and the need to travel, isn’t always ideal when you want to relax.

Pool closed for our entire stay.

Our stay at Adagio Aparthotel Rome Vatican was a mix of positives and negatives. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any queries or requests we had. The rooms were spacious and offered good views, which added to the comfort of our stay. However, there were a few drawbacks. The breakfast selection was quite limited and became monotonous, especially if you’re staying for more than three days. This was a bit disappointing as we expected a bit more variety. The most significant issue we faced was that the swimming pool was closed for maintenance during our entire 6-day stay. This was particularly frustrating as we were traveling as three families with six children who were looking forward to spending time at the pool. We had specifically chosen this hotel because of the pool, despite its location being away from the city center. The lack of access to this key amenity was a major letdown for us. Overall, while the hotel has its advantages, the limited breakfast options and the unavailability of the pool during our stay were significant downsides to our experience. It’s certainly frustrating to experience repeated pool closures, especially when this amenity is a key reason for choosing a hotel. If you’ve come across multiple reviews mentioning the pool being closed, it does raise concerns about the hotel's management and maintenance practices. While it's possible that the closures could be due to genuine maintenance issues or staffing challenges, repeated incidents suggest a pattern that might indicate underlying problems. This could be a result of the hotel not investing enough in proper maintenance, failing to hire adequate staff, or perhaps not being transparent about the pool's availability. If you’re planning to stay there and the pool is important to you, I would recommend reaching out to the hotel directly to confirm the pool’s status. It might also be useful to ask them about their maintenance schedule or any upcoming closures to avoid any disappointments. Additionally, considering these consistent issues, you might want to explore alternative accommodations that better meet your needs.

Was a bit meh. We came to Rome to explore, eat yummy food and cool off in the pool. Sadly on our visit the pool for technical reason was shut. A big blow. We were greeted with a lot of hidden fees to pay- taxes which we were kind of aware of as a friend had warned us but this isn’t stated until Check in we believe (incl young children ) per person per day. And damage deposits. (Yet to come through) Kitchen felt like a uni kitchen, and wasn't clean at all. Sticky handles on cupboards and old food remains, bin was filthy (despite having to clean and empty that your self) Our feet got so dirty in the apartment. Bed wasn’t ideal for the kids and equally was full of hair as they camped on the sofa. Reception bright and cheerful, didn’t have breakfast. Your a good 25 min taxi ride to central. Your next to a train station which will Get you to town in around 10-15 mins. Hardly any restaurants around you other than a popular one next door. We sadly leaned on deliveroo! We opted to leave early. It does a job but we sadly weren’t overly keen.

Found this place on Accor and never had actually stayed at an apart hotel or an adagio before so this was a new experience. First and foremost the location is far so be ready to spend an hour in the train or a cab that will not easily agree to come here. Once here the place is neat and clean and the owner / manager checks you in with a lot of rules and regulations that he will tell you about. Most of them being that everything literally everything is chargeable and that there is a charge for even coffee pods and towels if you wish to use them for the pool. I found it amusing that he was more of a hostel check in manager informing young students who were on a college excursion rather than paying adult guests. My wife wanted to do some laundry and went down to the laundromat inside the premises only to wait there for twenty min because the owner could not be bothered to be disturbed whilst he was penning down the match timings for the weekends football schedule. Once free he said you have to pay for the laundromat and the washing machine locked the clothes inside as my wife did not have the change. We paid and that was the end of it but what a silly and confusing experience and a waste of time. We were told we could opt to eat breakfast in their dining area and that it was very lavish and grand. I chose Not to but had a glance the next morning and the spread was laughable. There is a hundred year old safe in the room for which you have to go down to get a key and are instructed to return it back befor you check out. Sure thing. I am now Going to have to carry around a massive key while I roam in Rome ! Average stay and average place. The prices are cheap. Would I stay here again ? Nopes. The upside is a very very nice restaurant next door that the owner recommended and that was a great recommendation.

Good property, distant location

Once you finally get there, it’s worth it. The room offers space and really effective A/C, a balcony is welcome, the pool is available and overall the location is safe and well-kept. However, the check in was not as smooth as usual when you do what is required online, a bit chaotic. The regional train station is next door, so you get to the Vatican and further in no time.
