Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese bintang 5

Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese Hotel is entitle to at least 3 of its stars. It has been recently renovated and things are sparling new and squeaky clean and well appointed. All of the finishes were high end. There were a few quirky things. There were adequate electrical outlets for recharging devices [we carry many] but they were awkwardly placed so no matter how I did it I had wires hanging off the table or chair that I placed them on. The first visit to the high-end marble shower left me in a bit of a panic when I realized that I could not figure out how to turn on the water but with some trial and error I was able to get that resolved. Then we moved on to the Illy coffee and tea contraption. From all appearances, it has never been used and I am sure that is because no guests could figure out how it worked. The entire coffee cabinet was sleek and fully set up with cups and flatware of various sizes. There is no need to bother with this coffee gadget and risk burning down the hotel when there is a complete restaurant just a few floors above On our recent stay there appeared to be very few guest although the included breakfast seemed well attended. The lobby and front desk staff seemed pretty disinterested. On our first evening a request for a restaurant recommendation was greeted with a few circles on a tourist map. The front desk staff did not wear name tags as if they did not want to be identified. Our booking had a notation for a complimentary bottle of wine upon our arrival. We joked each time that we returned to the that it might be there but alas, no wine ever arrived. Candidly I have had better personal service at a Marriott Courtyard. I think that the location of the hotel is great if you are in Rome for business and want a quite evening. if you are in Rome as a tourist I would look for something in a more lively area.

The hotel is beautifully designed. While the room is not big, it has all the necessary amenities with stylish decor. It is very quiet with good sound proof. The breakfast on the top floor, overlooking the Vatican city from afar, is a must try. The service and quality of the food is also outstanding.

Had a fabulous week in this hotel, very recently renovated. Had a very nice room with a balcony. Nice painting in room ceiling, really feels like in Rome. In a nice cosy place overseeing the beautiful city skyline on the 7th floor, where breakfast is served. The staff at the restaurant are very attentive and remembers our choices. Specially compliments to Eleonora and Giordana . The place is quite near to Spanish Steps, a little walk up to the hotel but still convenient enough. Plenty of shopping and restaurants at Spanish Steps but the hotel is a little away from all the crowd and noise. The staff at the front office are very helpful with directions, restaurants bookings and everything. I like to acknowledge especially Ivan , Grace and Hd concierge Agostino. It is staff like all of them that made our stay fabulous. In Rome , this will be the place I recommend to stay.

You know you work hard all year for your two week vacation and you hope it is everything you hope it can be. We had never stayed at a Sofitel before and I have to say if they are all like this, sign me up. The staff was so kind and helpful and lovely. From the doormen to the staff behind the desk to lovely Mae working in the restaurant. It is clean it is modern it is beautiful. We did not have the most expensive room but they made sure we had a lovely view when I requested it. It truly was heaven. The breakfast is unbelievable and the view from the restaurant is crazy good. Lovely in every way.

A lovely hotel, incredibly nice and friendly staff, very attentive. The rooms are very pretty and well equipped and very clean. Breakfast was excellent. The view from the restaurant is amazing. I would definitely stay here again
