Hot rooms. Disabled AC stuck in vent mode. When Thermostat says 19 actual temp is 24. Front desk gives you runaround excuses. Management lack of care or attention to detail. Why does this matter? easy. Not everyone enjoys hot rooms and lack of control over thermostat. Even in winter, given Madrid has temps that fluctuate. Open window and enjoy loud noise, so no help there for cooling. Personally I would pick Marriott any day over Novotel. The difference in these mega chains is in the attention to detail. This hotel is self proclaimed as 4 stars. In actuality I would give it 2. Hit or miss service. Depressing dark rooms with no upgrades or improvements in over a decade. Company gets us these cheapy rooms and hotel acts accordingly. Well since you insist in offering mediocre service I will keep rating accordingly. Lots of choices in Madrid, this is one to avoid

Excellent hotel, well located

Just spent a few days with family, hotel is centric (not center but very close), it is walking distance from El Retiro park. There are many restaurants and shops around. Big hotel, super fast check-in. Breakfast buffet was very good too, a bit crowded maybe buy i guess it depends of the time. Big rooms, and excellent beds, very comfy.

Stayed here as part of a tour group for 3 nights. I highly recommend this hotel. The room very comfortable . It was very clean and smelled fresh. the hotel itself is in a pretty good location and is close to retiro park. The breakfast was top of the line. I did not visit the bar so i can not comment on that. Madrid has cabs on every corner it seems like and there is always one close to the hotel. i would stay here if again if i went back to Madrid

Common areas are very nice. Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms were average (could have been nicer for the price). Elevators were very slow. Convenient location to the venue and bars/restaurants/shops. Employees were nice and accomodating.

Harry Styles weekend break

Spent four nights whilst going to see Harry Styles perform in Madrid. Hotel is well located with good metro links and close to Atocha. Staff very friendly. Rooftop pool and bar is a refreshing place to chill shaded from the warm Madrid sun.
