We had an extremely enjoyable stay. The hotel is located up a very steep hill; quiet a challenge with our suitcases, however, it is well located for Parliament, shops and transport to restaurants. We stayed in a club corner room, which had nice views. Despite the hotel being very busy (in fact it was full), the staff (particularly one of the male receptionists who helped me when I thought I had lost my credit cards in the lift and the waiter who served us at breakfast), were amazing. The breakfast was also superb. We particularly liked all the local products used in the buffet and the eggs were the best we had ever eaten! The club was also great with a good choice of snacks and drinks.

we have stayed here numbers of times over the years. This time to the credit of the staff that we even accidentally paid too much, as with our corporate membership we are entitled to free breakfasts for two rooms and I did not realise that. They created this back to our account and explained it for future stays. the restaurant is great, the location is easy getting around in WELLINGTON, and the beds are the typical sofa towel soft, delicious comfort. Paw is the best coffee maker in town. Thanks Team for another great stay.

When you come somewhere like this you realise how a hotel should be run. It was outstanding. Just beautiful from start to finish. I came away wondering if this was the French influence and whether it’s just that Anglo-American chains have plummeted in quality because here you have elegance, refinement, and exquisite touches. The room was fabulous, the breakfast quite superb. The staff THE best. It made me think that in future I will seek out Sofitels whenever I can afford to do so. It’s totally worth it.

The best breakfast over 20 accommodations in 7 weeks of travelling!

A lovely foyer and a warm welcome to the hotel. They were very busy as there was an international rugby match on, but nothing seems too much trouble, however there was a little wait. The welcome continued in the bedroom, with an upgrade. It was well furnished, decorated, clean and modern. The breakfast had a massive selection, the best in 7 weeks of travelling!! We great coffee to match. The hotel gym was well equipped and clean. The service in the bar was slow due to it being busy (more staff was required) but we were in no rush! A great location to enjoy the sights and sounds of visiting the city.

Spent 2 nights at Sofitel, Wellington. Very tastefully decorated throughout with a French theme. Staff spoke French as well as English. Fabulous breakfast. All food that we had was fresh and tasty. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout. Joe the chef went over and above during our stay. Hunter, behind the bar in the club lounge was an absolute delight - so friendly and welcoming. I chose this hotel for the stylish design but it's also in a good location for our one day tourist plan. Short easy walk to the cable car (about 10 mins). Took the historic cable car up the hill, straight to the complementary shuttle to Zealandia for a tour, then shuttle back to top of cable car. We walked through the botanical gardens back to the hotel - downhill and very pleasant. Also it's just about 15 minutes walk to the museum at the wharf. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Wellington then I would choose this hotel again. Thank you very much.
