We had a very comfortable night in at the weekend, the room was perfect and had everything we required. The levels of cleanliness was acceptable, but some of the decor was looking a little in need of attention. Having said that, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. I’d say it was reasonably good value for money too.

Moth infestation

We arrived late last Friday night. Staff were very personable and the place looked lovely. We were given the cards to our room but we found it to have lots of moths flying around. We killed thirty of them but there were more. The carpet had been eaten away in more than one place, so the infestation had been happening for a while. I went to reception to tell them about the moths and that only half the light were working. I wanted a replacement light bulb. The preferred to transfer us to another room which they did immediately. The new room had a few moths in but nothing more. More lights were working but not all and the light by my bed was not working. It was too late to mention it by then. I have retinitis pigmentosa and have no vision in the dark at all, so going to the loo in the night was a challenge. Personally, I think you will have to change your carpets and fumigate the place because the cleaners have probably been moving the moths around in the bedding the collect from the rooms. Other than that, the hotel was good and the staff were lovely and it was a great location for us.

Room done only on request. Safe not working at arrival. Breakfast of poor quality. Removing breakfast items before end of announced timing. Towels only on request, not changed every day. No international TV channels (although Mercure is member of the ACCOR group (French) : no French or German or else...

We came to stay as part of a wedding party. From booking to staying, the whole experience was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast buffet was delicious. We had a family room and the complimentary drinks and snacks were a great touch. The only thing stopping me giving this hotel a 10 was the comfort of the sofa bed for my girls. Thank you to the staff who helped make our stay so wonderful.
