Very disappointing. Service at the reception desk was slow and woeful. Concierge could have assisted but chose not to. In-room dining room ordered... horrible. Cold. Tasteless. Missing ingredients. Was no way worth the $$ value put on the meal. Not good enough for accommodation that rates itself as 5 star. On a positive: the room was clean, neat and tidy.

Disappointing - cost cutting evident.

Comfortable bed but very basic amenities and overpriced breakfast buffet - not what I’d expect from a hotel of this rating or price. Two teacups, no water glasses, no other crockery or utensils. Two pillows only for a king bed suite, and no spares, or spare blanket. Had to ring twice to get pillows sent up. Shampoo and conditioner dispenser in shower is bad enough but no body soap in there. Breakfast was $33 a head and overpriced - stale bread, food average and both coffee machines broken. Quite disappointing - felt like cost cutting everywhere except in the room rate.

This was a very disappointing stay for us. We based ourselves by Albert Park for the 5 nights we visited Melbourne and got moved from the neighbouring Mecure to the Pullman at the last minute due to internal works. We were told this was an upgrade as the Pullman is 5 stars. However apart from the window view it never felt close to 4 stars. The room was tired and bathroom facilities old and limited. The pool was also past its best with no resting areas with reclining chairs or beds and a hard concrete floor. It is functional but not pleasant. Worse though was our restaurant experience in their ‘Windows Restaurant’ on the Saturday evening. We arrived at 8:40 to be told the kitchen was closing soon and despite it being almost empty we were given a table with chipped and worn chairs right in front of the cleaning station. The relatively expensive food came and was too tough to cut and not very warm. Staff were attentive but seemed unable to effect change or improvement. Our expectations of the poor experience being reflected in the bill were inaccurate and we had to make two separate complaints about the food and poor state of the restaurant as our first one was not passed on and our bill did not reflect our poor experience. The hotel seemed set up for the upcoming F1 outside and individual attention was lacking. The hotel is in great need of a modernisation and the staff need empowering to help customers more.

We had a comfortable stay at the Pullman. The room was spacious, the queens beds were comfortable. I really like the memory foam pillows provided. I wish we were given a room with bath tub as the shower we had leaks out all over the bathroom floor. There is a capsule coffee machine in the room but housekeeping never refilled the capsules in our room even though we stayed 5 nights. Also, the housekeeping was a bit on and off. Some days we don’t get any hand towels, some we didn’t get bath mat, some we had 2 towels or 3 towels. The buffet breakfast choices were limited but ok, it gets quite busy. There are hot food - eggs, sausage, bacon and mushrooms.

5 star executive room. Loved it!!!

Excellent 5 star executive room on top level. Huge room, great furniture, perfect bed, great in-room dining, and perfect shower and washroom. Customer service perfect in every way. Great air con. Openable room windows to outdoors was a welcome bonus to feel the outdoor wind when desired. All modern fittings and nice luxuries such as the best toilet paper. Asked for an extra toilet roll, got 3 fast! And superbly clean room. Also very quiet for all 3 days and nights of our stay. Some missing Fox channels on TV but that's fine. Great big enough and clear TV. Thank you for the great stay Pullman AB. Loved it!! Will be back soon.
