Rooms weren't ready for check in until 8pm the night before my wedding

Whilst the rooms were great and our stay very comfortable, I was really disappointed that 2 of 3 rooms were not available for check in until nearly 8pm - despite the hotel having a 2pm check in policy. This was the night before my wedding. Was really inconvenient for us especially because I have a 9 month old baby that was staying with me in one of the rooms not ready until 8pm, so I wasn't able to set up her cot etc until after she was ready for sleep. When I politely gave feedback at the reception (I've also send emails that have not been responded to), they gave a pretty disingenuous apology and promised to look into. They didn't even offer to waive the mini bar fee ($8) as a small gesture

Nadia please accept our sincere apologies for your negative experience. At times our rooms do take a little longer to prepare and unfortunately our guaranteed check in time of 2pm isn't achieved, however 8pm is completely unacceptable. It is also extremely disappointing that the response you received when providing feedback was not sincere nor apologetic. At your earliest convenience, please contact the hotel and ask to speak with our Front Office Manager Vijay. He would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the matter further.

Great location, friendly reception staff

Great hotel in good location, within walking distance to Queen Street Mall.. Reception staff are wonderful and friendly... Rooms large and clean, with great views... Highly recommend, finally found a good hotel in Brisbane at a reasonable price... I will be back.

Bargain night stay with a view and buffet breakfast

For anyone reading the bad review from 2015, it just aint so. Our room was on the first floor, huge room, 2 queen beds, huge TV, mini kitchenette, even a view. Buffet breakfast was absolutely amazing, as good as I've had in Singapore and huge variety. Would highly recommend and stay here again. Staff were very friendly too.

Good Location

This was a nice hotel to stay in. The room was spacious and even had a balcony. It even had a small kitchen with a small washing machine. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was there was no grab bar to get in/out of the shower and the half glass partition in the shower wasn't safe to hold getting out of the tub. Lots of places to eat around the hotel. I took the train a lot and the station was within walking distance. There was some road construction going on but it didn't really bother me at night.

The Sebel is in a very convenient location, easy to walk to the mall and also not too far from the river. Our one bedroom premium apartment overlooked a busy street and it was not very quiet. I requested a quiet room away from the lifts, we were allocated a room opposite the lift, that was a little disappointing. The walls in the apartment were dirty and I went and bought antibacterial wipes so I could clean them. Staff were friendly on checkin. Not sure if I would stay again.
