What utter dismay we felt as we arrived at this over-priced, shabby, outdated, basic, uncomfortable motel disguised as a hotel. We paid $450 NZD for the night and felt that $80 would have been a more appropriate price point. Think of a basic motel room that hasn't been cleaned very well. Dirty beige on beige, cheap uncomfortable furniture, dated scuffed decor, the room felt more like a conference break out room from the mid-90s than somewhere anyone with an iota of taste or decency would choose to stay. Greasy brown finger marks over walls and doors, stained faded carpet and dirty windows. Basic office-style furniture (think metal and glass). TRAGIC. Fancy a nice cold drink from the fridge? Forget it. All that's in there is a tiny long-life milk container lying on it's side. Not even a bottle of water. However, the compendium in the room states: "All guest rooms are stocked with a mini bar which is checked and replenished daily." Hmmm.... Upon calling reception we were told that they forgot to update the compendium to reflect that there are in fact no minibars in any of the rooms. You can however order drinks to be delivered. The small piece of paper next to the tea selection offered "white wine" for $40 a bottle. No further details were provided on what variety of white or red wine was available for purchase. Oh, and if paying $450 for a 1 star room isn't insult enough, you are then charged $10 if you want to use the wifi! How they get away with this boggles the mind. Shape up Sebel.

Stayed on a business trip for a single night. Luxury and good size, modern room with strong facilities. Contemporary style and great location by the harbour. Service at check in, departure and in the bar was very good. I’d definitely stay again.

This Hotel is in no way a 4 Star Hotel, given it doesn't have its own Restaurant and Bar, making it, in our opinion, a 2 Star motel. They advertise they have a mini bar in each rooms, but there wasn't one. The room was very run down with several fixture and furnishing issues. The Fri/Sat noise from the bar below made it impossible to sleep until after 2am. We would certainly not use this substandard motel again.!!!!

Great location to catch ferries and for eating places, but very noisy on a Friday and Saturday night. Needs a good clean as there was black mould around the sealant in the bathroom and around the shower trap. No luggage racks, only one chair to view the viaduct, and the European pillows were terrible. No pillow protectors. Please note, you have to pay for the internet. $10 per day which is a bit off, as the room was $500 a night. Staff were very helpful when we had a couple of issues.

Our room was booked by the tour operator who didn’t get us a harbour facing room - which I reckon would have been worth the extra! However, our room did have a kitchen a washing machine and tumble drier, and joy of joys after a month in a campervan a bath! The duty manager - Mr Lim - could not have been more kind and helpful. Top marks. The hotel location is excellent too - 2 minutes walk from harbour front. 5 minutes walk from a bungee at SkyTower if you like that sort of thing!
