Neither me or my wife had ever stayed in a Budget Ibis before and It was our cheapest hotel option on short notice, so we figured we would give it a go! I have heard only good things in the past but our experience was nothing short of mediocre! Starting with the positives, the room was nice, well lit, for the most part spotless, we were able to connect HDMI to the TV so we could watch our shows on my laptop on a bigger screen, decent sized bed and free tea and coffee in the foyer! The only thing we cound unusual was that the Shower and sink were in the main room but the toilet at least was separate!! The more negative thing was that being 6”4 in that room wasn’t great! I whacked my head a good couple of times on the strange bunk bed and also the fact that the shower water pressure was non existent! So overall the clue is in the title, you get what you pay for I guess 🤷‍♂️ staff were nice though 😆

Booked 2 nights for myself and my son for his 16th as we were heading into Edinburgh on the Saturday for a ghost Tour .Arrived on the Friday and was very disappointed at the size of the room and the shower was in the room .When we went to bed discovered the bunk bed had no duvet cover reception said we should have asked for this before hand although only discovered when we went to bed at midnight. When I booked also said breakfast was included but when I got up in the morning went down was only continental very disappointing. For £185 per night very poor done stay for the second night checked out and went home .Anyone that's stays here won't return.

Once we received your message after midnight, we did our best to assist by sending housekeeping the next day to prepare the bunk bed and was not accepted, I can understand the first night was uncomfortable to share the double bed with your son, however if flagged the same night our team members would have arranged the bunk bed for you. Pictures of the room type are clear and regarding room size and amenities in the rooms. I have stayed here a few times for work, handy for travelling with either the train or tram into Edinburgh. Most recently, the hotel was very busy and quite noisy, even through the night. Nice staff and clean rooms make up for it, bed is always comfy!

Poor verging on awful

Truly dreadful. Quite honestly the poorest Ibis I've ever stayed at. The staff were clearly overworked but that manifested itself in a really bad customer experience. One overworked receptionist who was also the barman. He didn't engage in eye contact with the customer at all. Not once. Any communication was surly and grumpy. No pleasantries, no welcome. Awful. There was a ?supervisor present but he seemed to spend his time chatting to his mate at the reception desk amd actively avoided any customer contact. The rooms are incredibly basic which might be ok if this place lived up to its budget label. A badly fitting toilet door that offers no privacy. A weird bunk bed over the main bed. No sockets by the bed. Yet they're currently charging £233/night (TripAdvisor price 21/08/24). There is damp on the walls and the shower opens into the room, it's like they put a bunk bed in a large bathroom. In the bar if an evening there is no attempt to clear glasses and the bar area is almost inaccessible through a sea if unwashed glasses. The overpriced, not included breakfast is paltry and poor quality, served with an inspiring view of the neighbourhood bin, which sums up this hotel perfectly.

Amazing dog friendly at reasonable price

This hotel is super dog friendly and the floors don't have carpet in the room which is good when you have a puppy who can have the occasional accident. I used this hotel when I attended a dog show at the Royal Highland showground. My dogs really enjoyed the air con in the room and they also enjoyed the walks around the hotel. it's an amazing hotel.
