Beautiful hotel, perfect location and almost fairy tale atmosphere. Rooms are clean and large, beds comfortable and extra pillows available. Rooms are basically equipped, but have everything to suit basic needs. Our television worked intermittently and there was no alarm clock. Safe and fridge available with excellent towels, robes etc Restaurant is stunning!! 10 courses with the main menu…beautiful food. Extremely historic building with a few nighttime noises, but a fantastic stay! Highly recommended

First time in Carcassonne, this hotel was just amazing. We splurged on a room with a terrace, which was totally magical. This hotel is located inside the ancient fortified city, so you're staying basically inside a fortified castle. You can see from the pictures. We had a glass of wine on our terrace every night, watching the sunset over the countryside with castle towers all around us. It was crazy beautiful. Staff was excellent. You can park your car outside the city walls, and they will take your luggage up to the hotel. Climate control was very good. Location of the hotel couldn't be better. Breakfast was great. Common areas in the hotel are beautiful. All in all, this hotel was like a 10 out of 10, and I'd go back to Carcassonne just to stay here again. It was that memorable a stay.

What a perfect place to stay while visiting Carcassonne. The hotel is charming and lovely as well as its very helpful and professional staff. We enjoyed a magical view of the castle turrets and gardens especially at night. Breakfast each morning was delicious and very varied. Afternoon drinks in the garden was relaxing as well as an afternoon swim in their lovely pool.It was so nice to experience the city after the tourists left for the day and could walk to a lovely restaurant for dinner. Highly recommend staying here.

Stay here! It is IN the city next to the cathedral. Best location in the old city. Charming hotel with ambience. Helpful staff and effortless check in and out. Get directions to their private parking lot if you are driving; tricky to find!!!

Truly a great, old hotel within the walled city in Carcassonne. You cannot beat this location. Hotel is well appointed and staff are friendly and helpful - check-in was easy and the front desk helped arranged a taxi to the train station upon our departure. However, do not book a superior room. After reading the website and reviews, it seemed like some superior rooms have a balcony while others are just large rooms. The balcony rooms looked great, so I chose to roll the dice. Unfortunately, we did not get a balcony and instead had a room (#210) that looked suspiciously like a standard room on the website, with the only difference seemingly being the room was slightly larger and had a couch. So, at the end of the day, the superior room offered nothing more than a standard room, just an added cost. If you’re traveling at off peak times and can guarantee a balcony, then book the superior room; otherwise, it’s not worth paying extra to roll the dice and just get a more expensive, slightly larger standard room. The room was disappointing - had I booked a standard room, this would have been 5/5 stars. But, I feel like I paid extra money for nothing more on my experience. I’d recommend the hotel consider different room categories rather than grouping everything from a balcony to an interior room in one category.
