Outback Hotel & Lodge - A member of ibis Styles 3 gwiazdki

Didn't stay here, just came for a drink and meal. Ordered the chicken then realised I'd got to cook it on the barbecue. Certainly different to say the least but an enjoyable experience with friends. Surprised the shutters came down at 9pm. Thank you Team Outback.

We originally planned to camp but decided to swap to accommodation and were not disappointed. Well-appointed, nice beds, comfortable room. It was fairly private although it would be hard to have a room near the parking bays as this coul get busy. We had a short walk to the parking bay and it was a safe environment. Staff were helpful and setting was good.

First impressions can be deceiving. This place is the last drop off in the resort and you might think "mmmmmmm .......?" But its really great. OK so the accommodation might,for those who remember thes things, be a tad reminiscent of McQueen and Hoffman on Devils Island but inside, perfectly fine. Comfy beds etc. Throughout, the use of crinkly tin gives a really good outback vibe. And, this is the only proper pub on the resort. The staff are friendly and effective. A pub full of noise, barbies creating great smells and live music. What more could you wish for a thousand miles from anywhere.

Booking a hotel in Uluru might burn a hole in one's wallet, and I booked with Outback Pioneer because they were the cheapest option I could find. Was discouraged at first because of its distance from the town (not too far but it is isolated from everything else,) but worked out well in the end. I enjoyed my stay! The room was always clean, and with full amenities. Wifi reception however was a bit difficult, especially since my room was at the far end of the hotel. Bonus: I think that the souvenir shop at the hotel has a lot more variety than the souvenir shop in town. At least, this is based on the time I was there. The souvenir shop also sells some drinks and snacks.

Booked by our tour agent in the U.K., inclusive of breakfast. When we checked in, tried to tell us breakfast was extra (cynic in me winders if this was an underhand way of generating additional income). On Production of the voucher, records supposedly updated but when we got to the breakfast service, no record - we should have been given vouchers. Our tour info advised check in from 2pm, reception sign advised 3pm, but nearer 3.30 when we got in. Room comfortable enough but nothing special. The rest off the place felt like a back-packers place rather than something suitable for a couple. I have reviewed the. Bough House restaurant separately but there is also a snack/pizza bar and the ability to “cook your own “ barbie, purchasing your raw meats and accompaniments again, at extortionate prices more comparable with London /Sydney restaurants.
