Liana_tree Couples - TripAdvisor review

It’s expensive but keep expectations in mind considering its location and the alternatives. Room was designed like an old motel, but was comfortable. Balcony opens to the starry night. Air conditioning was cooling and cold. Walkable to the theatre, IGA and town square. Wonderful service from the reception Agnes who was super friendly and helpful. On site restaurant was pretty convenient.

We would give this property 3 1/2 stars if we could. Understanding where this is located, it is important to keep your expectations in line. The staff we came across was all friendly and accommodating. We loved the training programs taking place at the property which give the indigenous people great opportunities. This hotel is part of a very large complex that has varying levels of accommodation ranging from camping to apartments to luxury. This was supposed to be one step down from the luxury option. That wouldn’t be our experience. The grounds kind of look like a compound. The rooms, while comfortable enough are slightly dated and the bathroom looks like something you would find in a dormitory. They were clean and we had a nice balcony that overlooked brush. There was a pool on-site and two restaurants. We did try the more casual one and it was good but found the other to be very expensive so passed on it. Appreciated the complex shuttle that got us around to the other properties to have a variety of restaurants. The Town area has several places to eat and an IGA supermarket and can be reached on foot in less than 10 minutes or by the shuttle. We enjoyed our stay but were a little underwhelmed by the hotel given the price point. Perhaps would look at the Sails property instead if going back.

Dear 848kimg, Thank you for sharing your review with us. We appreciate your thoughtful feedback and are glad to hear that you found our staff friendly and accommodating, and that you enjoyed the training programs offered to the indigenous people. We understand that expectations can vary depending on the type of accommodation and we’re sorry to hear that the Desert Gardens Hotel didn’t fully meet yours. We appreciate your comments about the room condition and the bathroom, as well as your feedback on the dining experience. We’ll certainly take your insights into account as we continue to improve the property. We’re also pleased that you made use of the shuttle service and enjoyed the variety of restaurants in the area. While we regret that the experience wasn’t as expected, we hope the overall convenience of the location and the beautiful surroundings still made your stay enjoyable. We’d love the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Ayers Rock review Normally I might have rated the Desert Gardens Hotel as 3 or 4 stars. But the cavalier attitude to a basic function was inexcusable: our two rooms had new thermostats that no one knew how to adjust. When I say no one, I mean that I as an experience traveler I couldn't figure it out, and a friendly person from reception who stopped by the room couldn't figure it out either. He told me that the thermostats were newly installed and the staff hadn't been trained on how to use them. With temperatures in the high 30s to 40 C, air conditioning was a must. My room was freezing, causing me to wake up and turn off the AC, then to wake up later during the night to turn it back on repeatedly, while my friend's room was unbearably warm to the point that he opened windows all night. I emphasize that the air conditioning worked in the sense it was blowing cool air; we just couldn't adjust the temperature. We had various minor complaints about the restaurants and other aspects of the stay, but they pale in comparison to the AC snafu. What was hotel management thinking?

Dear Bmheck, Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to share your experience with us. I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience you experienced with the air conditioning during your stay. I can understand how frustrating it must have been, especially with the high temperatures, and I’m sorry that our staff wasn’t able to resolve the issue promptly. We are currently working with our team to ensure that all staff members are properly trained on the new thermostats and that any technical issues are addressed quickly. We strive to provide our guests with a comfortable stay, and I regret that we fell short in this instance. Your comments regarding the restaurants and other aspects of your stay have also been noted, and we will use your feedback to improve our services. Thank you again for your review.

Later check in with tour group. Hotel is large with rooms in blocks, a bit confusing to find. Room was large, comfortable, great bed and quiet AC. Room was quiet, great shower. Lots of room for suitcases and toiletries. Had great looking pool. Next to several other such hotels. Good breakfast choices. Leave outside room light off as it attracts lots of visitors!

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback, pbrian2018. We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed the spacious and comfortable room, as well as the quiet air conditioning and shower. It’s also great to know you appreciated the breakfast options and the pool area. We appreciate your helpful tip regarding the outside light. We hope to welcome you back soon for another enjoyable stay near Uluru. Best regards

This works for your stay in Uluru, but check your expectations.

This hotel is kind of what it is. You'd like something better, and our booking agent told us that, but you're also not in the Uluru area for a luxury hotel, so it suffices. My room was clean. Toiletries were good enough. The room temperature was fine. Check-in was slow, but that's the nature of the beast here. There are a few flights per day, and everyone comes in and gets transported to the resorts on the same bus, and let off at the same time. So there is a bit of a queue. The restaurant at the resort is very good. We had an excellent dinner there. We got coffee at the bar, and while the service was friendly, it took a long time to get our coffee. It seems that a lot of the wait staff here are younger people looking to brush up on their English and hospitality. They're all super nice, but expectations of prompt service should be checked.

Dear Jimmy, Thank you for your detailed review. We’re glad to hear you found your room clean and enjoyed your dining experience at our restaurant. We appreciate your understanding of the check-in process, as it can be a bit hectic with multiple arrivals. We’re also thankful for your feedback on the bar service; we’re continuously working with our team to improve efficiency while maintaining our friendly atmosphere. Your insights are valuable, and we hope to welcome you back for another stay in Uluru. Best regards,
