Friendly And Convenient

I stayed 7 nights over Christmas and found this hotel very comfortable and in an exellent position for getting around Vienna. My room was on the 8th floor with good views, it was very quiet and cleaned to a high standard each day even Christmas day which surprised me. The room was a good size, it had a comfortable bed and a good shower. I had breakfast each morning which was great value and had a wide choice of hot and cold dishes and the friendly staff kept it topped up. Checking in and out was very easy and the friendly staff were always on hand to help with any questions i had. The location is excellent with the main railway station just 2 minuets walk away where you can catch the subway all accross the city or trains to anywhere else in Austria and further afield, i recommend buying the weekly ticket which allows you to travel on all public transport in Vienna unlimited for the week ( you can buy this for less or more days as well ) I would definitely stay at this hotel again when next in Vienna.

Impressive hotel - Very attractive location & competitive rates - Very well-connected - New, fresh, modern & stylish

Stayed at the Ibis Wien Hauptbahnhof for a couple of nights in November and had a really good time. The Ibis Wien Hauptbahnhof hotel is extremely well connected and conveniently located only about 200 metres from the exit door of the Wien Hauptbahnhof (Vienna Central Train Station) and the main hotel entrance. This station is a major transport hub in Vienna where you have multiple both U-Bahn (Metro) and S-Bahn (Commuter Train) as well as Intercity and also a couple of International trains is going through the train station. Also right in front of the train station, on the opposite side, is the Vienna International Bus Terminal. And the whole train station is intertwined with the huge shopping mall BahnhofCity Wien Hauptbahnhof with 80+ shops, everything from clothing stores to electricity stores, a huge food court, bakeries, cafés, and two different "SPAR" supermarkets, one small SPAR Express on street level, an in the cellar level is a super huge SPAR supermarket which is really convenient with a very large assortment of goods. But beware the very limited opening hours, this applies to most supermarkets In Austria in general, as they both open quite late and close quite early. The hotel is located in a seemingly brand new building or very recently refurbished in a huge building of a total ca. 20 floors, in the increasingly popular style to build in two different hotels in the same building. The first 9 floors are the ordinary red Ibis Wien Hauptbahnhof Hotel and on all of the remaining upper floors above is the Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof Hotel. They're both separated and have their own separate lobby, reception desks and breakfast rooms, bars and restaurants. I was assigned a room on the highest floor available, far away from the elevators, just as I like it and that I have put into my Accor ALL profile, so it's nice to see that the receptionists takes the time and put in the effort to accommodate each guests individual preferences. The hotel room was a standard two bed room with a partial obstructed view to the back of the hotel up and were up and above the train station's tracks and a poorly lit up back street. Further more, the hotel room also felt very new and fresh, either newly built or recently refurbished. Not a single scratch on any of the surfaces, nothing broken and the cleaning was also impeccable clean, both in the room and the bathroom. It was the standard classic signature red Ibis interiors, furnitures and decorations, of which one has become so accustomed to after all the other stays in different Ibis hotels lately and it felt just like you had come home and it was very relaxing and comfortable knowing how everything works and where everything's located, as the majority of these Ibis red hotel rooms more times than not have the exact same interior. There was a huge working desk with working chair, just in plastic without any cushion, unfortunately no stationary in the room. No kettle with coffee or tea sachets or mini-fridge either. On the wall in front of the beds, that for some reason intentionally had been put together just like a double bed and not two separate beds as usual. On the floor in the room a comfortable and fresh and new wall-to-wall-carpet in dark brown.Cool print design panels above the beds resembling some kind of ropes and reminisce about sail boats. On the classic Ibis wall panel on the wall in from of the beds there was a huge "Phillips"-brand flat screen TV that offered a large selection of domestic and international TV-channels, including exclusive CANAL+ movie- and sport TV-channels. Unfortunately no connectivity with the TV for casting from/via your own devices such as with Chromeast, Miracast, AirPlay, etc. WiFi with very high speed, strong and consistent signal throughout the whole stay. The bathroom was as previously mentioned also impeccable clean and unusually spacious in comparison to other Ibis red hotels. It featured a huge mirror with built in lightning all around it, and in combination with the other strong lamps in the bathroom it's very convenient and good for maintaining your personal hygiene just as well as it must offer really good light for doing your make-up, I'd assume, if were you a lady. Big and spacious shower. Toiletries consisted of the Ibis signature "Rock Your Body!" wall-mounted bottles with 3-1 soap, body wash and shampoo. In conclusion, the Ibis Wien Hauptbahnhof is a hotel is a very good and solid choice, the close proximity to the heavily trafficked train and bus stations is no issue, as the walls just as the windows are thick and there is absolutely no sound pollution from either the outside nor from the inside from people running around and screaming in the corridors, etc. Would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend.
