Totally different than what you see

We visited Thailand for a month and stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights. I can honestly say without a doubt that this is the worst place we stayed in. The discrepancy between what you see and what you get is unbelievable. Pool area is crowded and not welcoming, far from the vibe you want in Thailand. Rooms are no more than ok (at best). Worst thing was the staff attitude that was ridiculously rude. They argue about anything! There are much better and cheaper places in that area.

We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, We take pride in providing excellent service to our customers. it's apparent in this case that we fell short that we can not complete deliver as your expected for this stay. Since hotel has 2 separate building " City building" across the street and "Beach building" on the opposite of the road with different price and facilities offer. We've tried our best to communicate with our customer including mentioned on the website that can see publicly and it's work well with majority of booking that can choose to book city building or beach building according to their needs. Hopefully we will have a chance to welcome you at deluxe building in the future in order to serve you better experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. A disappointing return - don't stay in high season

I've stayed at this property several times and unfortunately it was a great disappointment. I booked well in advance in classic rooms (old building) assuming at least one room would be upgraded over to the new building. While, this did occur the room provided was clearly rarely used, had zero view and was generally a bit depressing. Similarly, one can tell the older building was closed for years during the pandemic as you can still smell the stale air with the wood. The front desk staff were very nice, and indeed had to put up with a lot of nonesense from the other guests. This is also one of the big drawbacks, at this time of year the hotel's new building was packed with low-class package tourists who really ruined the whole tone of the hotel. I felt for some of the staff having to deal with their crass and rude behaviour. Frankly, I resented that they were able to secure much nicer rooms over repeat, high-tier guests. Breakfast at both venues was disappointing and should be reviewed.

Great stay

We had a great time at Mercure Koh Samui, we stayed in the Garden wing, which is the old building, but rooms are still beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was good with a good range of western and Thai options. The pool in the beach wing is amazing, we spent most of the time there. Cocktails of the beach bars were really good too, we made the most of the happy hour offered between 1pm - 5pm. My only suggestion would be to include more vegan options on breakfast (plant-based milk or yoghurt, diary free sweets) and restaurant menu, unfortunately we couldn’t try any of the local dishes offered there as everything had dairy or eggs, and there weren’t any tofu alternatives available. Overall we had a great stay and we will definitely come back in our next visit to Koh Samui.

Excellent Beachside Hotel

We stayed there in total for five nights, in both locations i.e., beach side and town side (i.e., across the road). The location was very good, not smack in the middle of the action which was a 10 mins walk away. The pools, pool bars and direct access to the beach were great. The breakfasts were excellent too. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely too with good aircon.
