Recently celebrated our dog club’s 100 year anniversary at the Mercure, we stayed for two nights and enjoyed the on site facilities. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfy, often overlooked in reviews, the shower was also excellent. Special mention to the operations manager karen who was there to ensure that the event went off without a hitch, all of the staff were great and they couldn’t do enough to help. Many shops close by and a nice walk around the lake just behind the property. Would definitely recommend.

We used the Mercure for our recent Championship Dog Show, it was a very memorable occasion for us as it was our centenary show and we needed everything to be just right. All the staff were extremely helpful especially Karen and Nicola who went out of their way to make the experience perfect and the hospitality they showed our guests was remarked upon over the course of the weekend. A special mention too to Azaria and Andrea who worked tirelessly looking after our exhibitors. I truly believe the amazing Welsh welcome they gave our visitors made an impression that helped with our shows success. We will most definitely be back !!

Good location, Noisy corridors!

Good location, stayed for 1 night, lots of parking. Room was spotless but quite hot, can’t open the windows- my pet peeve in hotels! The reason for my average rating was a very limited menu for an evening menu, although the food was good. The bed was quite firm and the pillows firm also, so not very comfortable, also noise in the corridor at 2am was not appreciated - I missed the Premier In. ‘Quiet corridors’ - I think the walls are quite thin. My room had an adjoining door, which unnerved me a bit as a single traveller so I put the chair against it. Due to the disrupted sleep, I wouldn’t stay here again on a weekend.

Appalling service and tried to serve food that could have hospitalised me

8th November 202t we had 15 peolle booked in for an awards ceremony with a set menu at 45 pound a person. Well we sat down to the table first thing we noticed was dirty cups and saucers clearly no pride in checking crockery several of pur party asked for clean cups. Next bread rolls well sliced bagette which clearly wasnt fresh as the ends of the bread sliced were actually hard. The starter prawn cocktail well it was clearly the dregs of prawns whole leaves of lettuce rather than shredded with prawns so substandard i wouldnt have served my cat them. Main course was reasonable however one guest waited so long for his main course everyone else had virtually finished eating. Now the really serious part for me the set menu was for dessert blueberry cheese cake. When the waitress appeared asking who ordered cheese cake i indicated i had. Plonked in front of me was strawberry cheesecake given i have a severe allergy to said fruit and get anaphalaxic i comolained immediately. I wouldnt have ordered said cheesecake knowing it could kill me. There was no blueberry cheescake at all in the end they produced after a long wait vanilla cheescake which no one at the dinner had ordered. This is supposed to be one of Swansea best hotels trust me if you want a one star meal in a four star hotel book here. I will be taking this matter further because people with severe allergies who order from a set menu should not be given replacement items especially without checking on allergies. Seems if you book a large table with an agreed set menu then you should have that menu not what the hotel who clearly have you as a hostage so to speak serve you whats left ovwr in the chillers Appalling service total disrespect for clients and no care about health and hygene.

We thought the hotel was slightly careworn. Very good breakfast but the evening menu in the restaurant was rather limited. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and a special mention goes to Simon who twice went out specially to get our newspaper.
