Lack of empathy

Unfortunately, due to a medical condition, I was unable to attend and honor my stay at your the hotel Ibis Geneve Central Nations. On the day of check-in, I informed you by Booking.com and by email, for the reasons mentioned, I would not be able to travel, and I did not receive any response or objection from your side regarding my cancellation requests. My reservation was made under a partially refundable policy, according to which, in the event of a no-show, only one night should be charged. However, due to your poor conduct, the property failed to report my absence as a “no-show” on Booking.com extranet, which prevented the refund of the second night. After multiple emails and phone calls — which, besides failing to resolve the issue, were answered with absolute disregard — I am left with no alternative but to leave this negative review. This situation demonstrates a clear lack of professionalism and empathy, going against the policies established by the property itself and by the platform through which the reservation was made.

Overpriced and Unpleasant Experience at Ibis Hotel

I stayed at the Ibis Hotel not long ago, and honestly, it just wasn’t a good experience. I got there early, around 7 in the morning. I knew check-in wasn’t until 3 PM, so I wasn’t expecting miracles, but the way the receptionist talked to me was pretty disappointing. I asked if I could get a decent room, and all she said was she’d give me the first one that came up. No real effort, no interest in helping out, just a flat, unfriendly answer. That set the tone for the rest of my stay. When I finally got my room, it was freezing. The heating barely worked. Plus, they didn’t bother to give any face towels, which seemed odd for a hotel like this. Breakfast didn’t help either. There were only two types of cheese and not much else. I expected something a bit more varied, or at least a little effort. All in all, I feel like the Ibis charges way too much for what you actually get. I wouldn’t stay there again, and I’d tell anyone else to think twice before booking.

The hotel was very clean and pretty modern. The room was a good size with all the necessary amenities and a big bathroom, and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast selection was good with lots of choice of pastries, hot food, yoghurt, granola, fruit and some cold cuts/cheese. It was a good location close enough to walk into Geneva centre and the lake plus you get a free travel card for buses, trams and water taxis when you book a hotel.
