I recently stayed at this hotel and had a great experience! The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spotless, and the garden was beautiful. The swimming pool was also fantastic! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

This is a tired old hotel desperately in need of major renovations. It claims to be a 4 star hotel, but highly debatable if it is a 2 star hotel. Many things in the room don’t work such as the electric kettle or the hand basin which does not drain. There is no Nespresso machine just sachets of instant coffee. Their kettle didn’t work in any event. As Accor Platinum one is supposed to get some in-room goodies but not here. Their rooms are small and just about everything in the room is falling apart. There is no character in the rooms. Some timber doors and cabinets are falling apart and efforts have been made to keep them together using building adhesives but it didn’t work, still falling apart. Some wooden areas have been patched up using a thin veneer and some sort of glue, looks totally out of place. The bathroom is small and although all the necessary fittings are there, they are in poor working order. The grout of the shower cubicle has come off and someone has tried to patch it up. There is no views to speak of, at least from our room. There is a balcony in our room but there were no chairs or tables to enjoy outside. The balcony had not been cleaned for a while, if ever. The breakfast was just so so and it was hard to find any Indonesian dishes. The food was mostly cold. We asked for an omelette with cheese and vegetables but there were no vegetables. There is no fresh fruit juice. We were booked to stay for 4 nights but left after just one night. Will not return to this place.

Well what can I say. Rooms...dirty, mouldy...very tired and the worse Mercure i have ever stayed in. House keeping was very poor. Had a dead moth on the floor and not cleaned up in the 5 days we stayed there. Balcony non existent and room smelled like wet dog constantly. This hotel needs a definate upgrade. Didn't eat here as the room put me off. Save your money and book else where. For me only a 2 star hotel Swimming pool, tiles off, no day beds, kids in adult only pool. Rankl

Overall the mercure hotel stay was very bad. The superior room we stayed at had following issues and observations - 1) The sink is outside the bathroom area and just next to the main door making it inconvenient. 2) The toilet and bath areas are separate which again makes it inconvenient for one to complete all their morning chores. 3) The balcony is small and no shelter at the top hence if it is raining, the whole area becomes wet and unusable. 4) The room is very small for 2 people to stay. 5) The AC in the room was leaking.

Reception at the Mercure was efficient if a little over gushy. A look around the reception told me not to expect too much. The twin room was on the ground floor. It was compact and showed no signs of being redecorated in living memory. There was some form of mural on the wall behind the bedheads. No sign of decoration anywhere else. No USB charging points. Not even a box of tissues. The shower had a control between hand held or rain head, but it was difficult to switch between them due to the age of the plumbing. It was a walk-in shower which was good, but the floor was slippery when wet, which was not good for older clients. The washbasin was actually in the bedroom which was not ideal. Breakfast was had at the ground floor café. It was adequate, but less than memorable. An omelette station made omelettes that weren't needed. They went into a chafing dish but emerged cold and rubbery. Juices varied a little each day. Fresh fruits changed little. Noteworthy was the honeydew melon which to my mind was way under ripe, cutting like an apple and with no discernible flavour. Hot dishes changed daily with the only memorable dish being tempeh cooked in garlic, chilli and ketchup manis. Room service was good but inconsistent as to time if day. The hotel was clean, although signs of mould in bathroom and toilet which seems common to even high class hotels in Asia. There is definitely room for a full refurbishment. However, given the price point it was ok. I do expect a better standard from a Mercure hotel.
