Bit like a good hostel

Stayed here as had an early flight. The place felt more like a hostel than a hotel and not even a motel. Bed configuration was double below and bunk above. Not sure that is the same in most rooms. Bed almost took up the entire room and the bathroom was much like a hospital bathroom but much smaller. I know budget is in the name, but this is really bare basic budget and not really at a budget price. The designer really needs a kick in the butt for being so unimaginative and “hospital” basic. Basically just a place to sleep, all be it a bit depressing. On the plus side, it has a bar and restaurant next door and quick walk to shops and fast food outlets. About 15 minutes walk to the international terminal. Has a regular shuttle available at $6 a person.

I've slept in bigger tents

Very convenient for Auckland airport and clean but that's it on the positives. The tiniest, cramped rooms - I've slept in bigger tents/caravans. By the time there are 2 people and 2 suitcases in the room, it's almost impossible to move around. For 1 night because of flight schedules, it's OK but I wouldn't stay any longer. A few places close by for breakfast/dinner - don't bother with any food offered by the hotel itself.

Don’t bother with this hotel!

Over-priced like all the hotels near Auckland Airport, cramped stuffy room with seemingly intractable over-warm aircon, indifferent desk staff. The only plus point was it was walking distance to the international terminal. Just what isn’t needed before a long haul flight. Wish I’d stayed at the far better Nomha Hotel and got the overcrowded yellow shuttle bus for $8.

Comfortable and good value. Rooms extremely small

Convenient and well priced. Room extremely small (bizarrely reminded me of a cabin on the Portsmouth to St Malo ferry), but comfortable and quiet. Air conditioning effective and not too loud. Oddly, there was a single bunk above the double bed. Located near shops and cafes, and a lovely off-road walk.

Basic but clean

There was supposed to be wi-if in room but there wasn’t. The pillows are so big and hard your neck is perpendicular to your torso. The room is like a small box with a bunk bed and a double squeezed in tight to the walls. Light fixtures on bed were not working and corroded. Yes it’s a “budget” hotel, ok to recover from a flight I guess, but we paid $279 so won’t be going back as this was bad value.
