First Stay at This Hotel - Very Disappointed 😢

We wanted to love this hotel…its location across from the central train station is unbeatable and we had already viewed a room and toured the hotel in June. Loved the quirky decoration and found the ‘sample’ room they showed us to be clean and functional. We were extremely disappointed! We checked in around 2:45pm and went up to our room. A sofa was pushed against one wall with the foot of the bed touching the sofa arm. No room to move either. So although there was space on both sides of the bed, someone had to climb over to get there as the sofa was blocking that side. I had never seen anything like it and went down to ask for a different room. Completely unworkable. The 2nd room was better but freezing as they hadn’t turned the heat on. We turned it on immediately. There was a very cushy, low seat that was broken on the bottom. We discovered it was a single foldout bed made to double as a type of short sofa. This was the only seating and was too low to use with the rolling ‘desk.’ The seat completely blocked the area where the closet was and since it was too heavy to move, we did without. Again unworkable. The sink in the bathroom didn’t drain. Once it got going the heat worked well but didn’t reach the entire room nor the bathroom. It was about 38 degrees outside at night so this made a difference. The bed was so hard we both woke up with a backache. - and we love firm mattresses. The taxi they ordered for us was late and more importantly did not have enough space for our bags, something we stressed needed to be communicated at the hotel. We used the front seat and had carry on bags piled on top of is as we began the cab ride to the Pont du Hard train station. All these issues made it impossible to enjoy our stay. The positives were the great location (Nimes Central Train Station), pleasant staff and a really nice breakfast. If they fix these problems we’d try the hotel again but that seems unlikely as we were told we were given one of the ‘newly renovated’ rooms! So disappointing!!!

Good staff and breakfast but no hot water

Stayed here as a stop off on a train journey and can't be faulted for location right next to the station. Staff were very friendly and had a lovely breakfast. There was an issue though that there was no hot water when we cam to have a shower in the morning. When we went to reception to enquire they said they knew they had an ongoing issue with hot water running out but there was nothing they could do about it. If they had known about it then why weren't we informed beforehand or at least when we checked in? I did raise this with Accor and were given a small amount of loyalty points but feel that didn't fully cover the inconvenience.

Second visit, says it all.

Clean, comfortable and very close to Nimes central station. Efficient friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast excellent, evening meals basic but excellent. Towels are almost threadbare and you know it’s an Ibis but notwithstanding these things it’s our second visit and we will go again when we need the railway. .

We stayed here for 2 nights and chose the hotel for its location being 2 minutes from the train station. The room was clean and comfortable and we slept well however it did not appear to have anything special about it. Having stayed in Ibis styles before we expected something more unusual than your standard room. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of mainly cold continental options including meats, cheese, bread and cereals. We paid 245 Euros for 2 nights including breakfast which on reflection probably feels a bit overpriced so might consider the budget option next door if we needed to stay again!

I hate giving negative feedback because I know the majority of front facing staff try their hardest. A plus point we arrived early and our room was ready. However the car park is away from the hotel and you need to get a different bar code every time you go. The room itself was comfortable and clean , though to get to it because the same lift caters for the budget as well it takes a long time to come. Next there was the restaurant, or lack of restaurant. There was a coach trip due in so the restaurant was closed to us normal customers. We had to make do with a pizza delivery and use of the bar. Well bar was probably the wrong term. The only bar ive ever been to that doesn't have gin or vodka. It was nice to see the coach trip getting their meal before bed though. Breakfast carnage is how I would describe it. The coach party were front and centre, tables unavailable ( despite most of the coach party already eaten and just waiting to board their coach). No plates, juice run out, hot food station empty. The staff doing reception and trying to sort out Breakfast as well. Not a good advertisement especially on the price paid
