Abu Dhabi has lot of hotels, so working out where to stay for our first trip here took some time. The effort paid off: from the single bus from the airport that ended its run at the back of the hotel, to the Club room with sea view that was ready for us at 11am, the friendly staff and the evened facilities of the Club lounge (special mention to Richard and his excellent Cosmopolitans) and the great location, the Sofitel has been a great choice.

Jazz and Fizz Bar (Live Entertainment)

It's our second holiday spent in Sofitel Hotel. We came last year on February and we decided to come back this year. We loved jazz and Fizz Bar, but this experience was different from last one. We spent five nights visiting the bar. And yes, drinks were great and staff attentive. Chamal was kind and Lovely welcoming every night. However, live entertainment was honestly depressing and lacking quality. Last year we had a blast with an amazing duet that made our nights enjoyable. But this year was quite the opposite... There was a guy with a laptop playing loud clarinet and a singer repeating same songs every night. This duet lacks quality honestly and unfortunately it affects the overall atmosphere. We believe quality entertainment is crucial for a five star hotel.

Afternoon Tea at Le Cafe

Le Cafe is indeed a fancy place in Sofitel Hotel! A mixture of elegance with a classical style. We enjoyed the afternoon tea very much, and Fatima's service. However, the live music was a bit off style. It truly doesn't match Le Cafe's atmosphere. It seems to be more of an indie country duo rather than a classical elegant one. And the clarinet was too loud! I hope they solve this, maybe a pianist, violinist or cellist will fit the atmosphere better.

No Loyalty, No Service, No Reason to Stay

My stay at Sofitel Abu Dhabi was a masterclass in poor service, lack of professionalism, and zero loyalty recognition. As a Platinum Accor member, I expected at least the basics of hospitality, but this hotel failed on every front. Loyalty? What Loyalty? Let’s start with the welcome amenity—which never arrived. After noticing it was missing, I went to the front desk, where they assured me it would be sent to my room. Hours later, nothing. I called the manager from my room, still ignored. All I wanted was some water, which, unbelievably, wasn’t even complimentary in the room. I had to go to the Executive Lounge just to get a bottle of water—a ridiculous inconvenience for what should be a basic offering. Disorganized Check-In & Room Access Issues Check-in was painfully slow and unprofessional. The agent at the desk began flipping through my passport pages for no reason—until I had to ask what she was looking for. Only then did she stop and make a copy. Completely unnecessary and uncomfortable. Despite my Platinum status, no room upgrade was offered. Then, to top it off, they handed me a room key without lounge access, meaning I had to come all the way back down to get it fixed. For a supposedly luxury hotel, these kinds of mistakes are unacceptable. The One Bright Spot? Room Service. The only positive experience during my stay was the gentleman who delivered my room service dinner—professional, prompt, and the only person who seemed to understand hospitality. Final Verdict – Do Not Stay Here. This is not a 5-star experience—it barely qualifies as a decent 3-star hotel. Ironically, I had just stayed at Ibis in Doha, and their Platinum service was 10 times better than what I received at Sofitel Abu Dhabi. If you’re in Abu Dhabi and an Accor Platinum member, go to Novotel or Ibis instead—cheaper, better service, and at least they acknowledge loyalty. Sofitel Abu Dhabi? Not worth your time, your money, or your patience. I will never stay here again.
