Overall, the staff was great but we felt as if the hotel lightning was dark in the hallways, and not much room to sit in the lobby, also they had a generator due to work being done nearby and their electricity that's gotten cut off. The hotel is extremely well located and in the center of town, near Ventas subway and the area is relatively quiet.

Horrible experience. The hotel was far from the center, it was extremely basic, the room was uncomfortable, the price was too high at 200+ euros a night, for a room so small, no view at all, it was a triangle where you had to walk sideways to go from one side to the other. No closet space at all. No shelves to put stuff on. No shampoo! They provided an all-in-one liquid shower soap. No Kleenex. We had booked for three nights but checked after only one night there. Your staff was not friendly or helpful much. For such a high rate they wanted 10 more euros to move us from rooms. And on top of all, not your fault, but there was subway construction undergoing right at the door. Also this location was so far away from the center! We moved to a five-star hotel near El Prado for the same rate. We had stayed at Ibis Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, where even when the hotel was also basic, the service was outstanding and we decided to stay with the same hotel chain, but we were extremely disappointed. Total cost including breakfast for ONE night was about 250 euros. Not worth it!

Be Aware of IBIS Madrid Centro Ventas (All Accor hotels group)!

When we arrived to IBIS Madrid Centro Ventas hotel at 9:00 PM we have been told that our reservation has been cancelled due to insufficient credit card on file and our room is gone, and they do not have any rooms available. When we booked this hotel 5 months in advance (for 5 nights), they ran my credit card and confirmed the reservation via email. That email stated that we have to pay in full upon arrival. And when we arrived we had no room to stay! With the straight faces, they simply sent two older women to the streets at night! They did not sent me a new bother to notify me about the problem in advance, and I had no idea that this problem could arise. (Apparently, sometimes after booking the hotel my bank replaced my credit card, so the old one was not working any longer). After crying and begging for an hour in the lobby, they finally found the room for us in the other hotel within All Accor Group, Novotel, but it was 1,000 Euros more expensive then IBIS. We had no other option than agree and pay. When we arrived to Novotel, we asked why this was happening, and they explained that this is the policy of all hotels under All Accor Group that they can cancel your reservation on the day of your arrival if there is any problem with your credit card on file (even if you booked 5 months earlier). It does not matter that their confirmation email does not explain it to you. It is just their right, and they exercise it!

Paid £270 for a one night stay on a Tuesday. It was good job it was for one night. The room was too hot and the aircon did not work until the morning. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows far too soft. The room was so dated. By far the worse Ibis I have stayed and I have stayed in many; particularly when most in Europe offer good value for the money. At that price, I expected a kettle in the room and there wasn’t even a bin in the main room. Just a small bathroom bin. Gets another star because of location and the staff did well - not easy one person running both the reception desk and the bar. I didn’t experience breakfast/the restaurant.

Great value accommodation including breakfast. We had a room on the top floor with nice urban views and views of the bill fighting arena. Nice view of sunrise. Rooms given a full service daily. Very close to the metro and took less than 10 minutes to get to the city centre, easy to navigate. When using ticket machines it was initially a little confusing, top up by number of trips and can use one card for multiple people. Breakfast was good, very simple but very adequate. Espresso coffee machine as well as filtered coffee and hot milk.
