Location was prime, given how close it is to the Gare Part Dieu. We didn’t know what to expect given it was our first time in Lyon, but second part of our trip. First part, we stayed at their newer sister property round the corner, which was delightful as well. Mercure front desk staff were all very nice and friendly and welcoming. All questions answered and all requests met. We were on the highest floor, however we faced the afternoon sun and we also faced the noisy train station. On a warm evening, when we opened the windows for some cooler air, one could hear all the announcements from the station, the trains, etc. Nevertheless, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this particular Mercure! Safety was top notch as you had to buzz to be allowed in, and only your key card could grant you access to your floor! Breakfast was quite elaborate, and a very nice selection was on offer. All in all, Mercure Lyon Part Dieu is one we would recommend and consider coming back to in the future! Merci a toute l’equipe du Mercure Lyon Part Dieu!

This hotel was lovely and in the perfect location if you want to be close to the train station. We were only spending two nights in Lyon and had huge suitcases so we chose to stay near gare part dieu and take the train to the attractions. I would definitely do it this way again. The train station is enormous and very very crowded. It would have been a challenge with large bags. The immediate area around the hotel is just ok. Very typical downtown area. The hotel offers a very good breakfast. The train station also has a ton of places to eat and it connected to a huge mall.

We came to Lyon for the Olympics. My family of 4 had reservations at a different hotel and upon arrival to that hotel realized that it was not as pictured or described and that we wanted to move hotels ASAP (think more like a hostel, threadbare towels, no air conditioning as advertised and dirty). Looking around online I saw that the Hotel Mercure Lyon - Gare Part Dieu had a great reviews, availability, was not completely out of budget and I was happy to be able to secure a room for our family for the remaining night we had in Lyon. We were able to check into the hotel early (at noon) and were so thrilled to arrive to a beautiful (cool) lobby and greeted warmly by the staff. We did not wait but a few minutes for our room and were delighted to walk into a large, clean, well-appointed room. We had a queen bed with fold out sofa and the fold out sofa was already made for us when we arrived. The bathroom was large with a great shower and large counter. The toiletries were of very good quality, the towels were fluffy, the beds were very comfortable. The additional fridge (with a water bottle ready to go), coffee/tea area was a great bonus and there was even a counter with a chair in case you wanted to eat or use a computer (not a desk, but thin counter). One more thing we liked about this room was that the toilet room had a sink in it (so that a person didn't have to leave the room to go to the bathroom to wash their hands). Additional amenities that we were SO thankful for was that there was a water fountain in the lobby where we could fill up our water bottles. It was refrigerated, the water was ice cold and wonderful before and after walks in the summer heat. They even had some pain au chocolates and mini croissants to have as a little treat. There is an attached restaurant and bar as well which we did not use, but the reviews but it looked like a lovely space. The actual hotel has an AMAZING location. It is literally STEPS from the train station in Lyon. We were able to walk out of our hotel room and be in the station less than 2 minutes later. This was wonderful when lugging our suitcases around. It is also great for convenience to grab food and coffee in the station or nearby restaurants. A huge variety is within 5-10 minutes. Last, the most important part of this very long review, is the customer service that I received AFTER my stay. The morning we left was my birthday (so it was great that my husband could take a 5 minutes walk to grab a coffee and pastry ;)). We hopped on a train and as it was starting to depart, I realized that I had ONE AirPod in my case. I had left the other one in my bed at the hotel. Expecting the worst, I sent a message through the website to hotel, explaining that my AirPod was probably lost in those white sheets and if the housekeeping staff found it, was there any way to mail it to me. We have left AirPods, retainers, you name in it, in hotels and AirBnBs and I have never had any luck in getting any answers from the hotel when I have inquired. So you can imagine my surprise and JOY in not only getting an answer, but getting a response that said that HAD found my AirPod and that they would be happy to mail it out to me. After a few more messages and a quick phone call, I was able to pay for the shipping (under 5 Euros, so they didn't even charge me for any time spent on this) and received a tracking number. My AirPod arrived safely at my home in Texas last week. (A HUGE thank you to Romeo, Julianne, Blandine and every other staff member who took the time to get it back to me). This hotel exceeded every expectation I had and blew me away with their care and service.

The hotel is right next to the main train station, very convenient! The staff is friendly and helpful. The room I was assigned to was perfect. Large, comfortable and with a great view. The linens and towels were also top quality. Breakfast was good and it took me two minutes to go to the station. Will certainly stay here again!
