One bad apple Ibis

The bathroom is very dated & small. The evening reception staff, exceptionally professional ( we arrived late) The bar staff. we’re also very plesent & highly professional. However in the morning when I asked for coffee & teabags for the room I was told by a very rude morning manager. We don’t have tea & coffee in the rooms & that is how we do it in France. ( in rather a loud voice , totally unnecessary,in my opinion) I pointed over the past four years on our trips to France , this was not the case. He handed me two coffee sachets ( which I thought was a joke & very rude ) we decided to have breakfast at the hotel… I was looking forward to boiled eggs. Well they have a machine which they have in other Ibis hotels which I am quite familiar with. So left them to boil away I like them hard & went about my business of having yogurt fruit & hot chocolate from their machine, which tasted nothing like hot chocolate so had a coffee, again it was indescribably bad. Tasted foul, like the machine needed a very good clean. So decided on water to drink. Went back for the eggs after 25 mins. No way I cracked open one it was raw.. so put the other back in the egg boiling machine. I showed the breakfast person who apologised & 10 mins later brought me another egg, the person stood in front of me & said the egg will be okay now & crushed their thumb into the egg & handed it to me, nooo still raw, in the mean time I also had gone back for my 35 min boiled egg. Same again raw. . Told staff again ( was really getting fed up by this time) I went over & looked into the machine ( I believe they work on the principle of pouring hot water into the machine & keeping it topped up throughout the breakfast session) machine was empty, pointed out to staff who then poured in cold water. By this time I was ready to go about my days business. Was offered any reimbursement on the breakfast which was just on €10 . Won’t be staying at this ibis again thank you

Reception staff very helpful and friendly. They are well trained and explain everything in perfect English The room is lovely and all facilities in room aare very very good

An Uncomfortably Hot Lesson in Misrepresentation

I booked this property fully expecting, as advertised, a room equipped with individually-controlled air-conditioning. Instead, I discovered—during an early-May heatwave that pushed outdoor temperatures well above 30 °C—that the entire system had been pre-emptively switched off for what management calls the “winter season.” The rooms themselves are tired and dated, but the real surprise was the management’s response when I raised the issue. Their explanation? “This is normal in France; the A/C exists, but we simply don’t turn it on at this time of year.” They attempted to placate me with a token allotment of loyalty points, as if a handful of points could replace a night’s sleep in stifling heat. I asked for a formal apology acknowledging both the inoperative air-conditioning and the misleading room description. What I received instead was a carefully worded statement that they “regret the discomfort,” pointedly omitting any admission of false advertising. Crucially, the hotel’s website and booking page make no mention of seasonal limitations on climate control. Bottom line: if you value a cool, comfortable room—and transparency—look elsewhere. Until this hotel either updates its facilities or its marketing copy (preferably both), travelers deserve to be warned.

Room 404, beware...

So, this was the third and final ibis Hotel we stayed at during our trip. Apparently, all of them have a ventilation situation in the shower: it either doesn’t work or just doesn’t exist. And don’t get me started on the size of the rooms—if you’re taller than 5'8", things get awkward. I’m 6 feet tall and managed to bump my head on the wall in front of the toilet. I also couldn’t leave the shower without catching a wall or an edge. In general, though, it's fine if you just need a place to crash. Room 404, beware... After checking in, we went up to settle in before heading out for dinner. As I entered the bathroom, I noticed something... ants? Wait, ANTS?! I killed six of them and carried on. I mentioned it to my wife, and she lazily rolled over and said, "If they're dead, clean them up." Sigh. I had already done that, so we took a nap. After our 30-minute recharge, I went back to the bathroom and saw even more of these "things." Ants? No, "things." Upon closer inspection, they weren't ants but bug-like creatures the size of ants. At this point, my wife is like, "Chill. I'm hungry. Let’s just tell reception on the way out." So I’m like, "Word," and we head downstairs. The receptionist looks bewildered when I ask for bug spray and insists on coming to the room with us. She grabs two spray bottles and follows us back. One looks like Windex, and the other is probably bleach... neither is bug spray. To her horror, these little creatures are indeed crawling all over the bathroom floor, and she immediately goes to work. I ask if we can switch rooms, but she informs us the hotel is fully booked tonight. However, we can move in the morning. Fine. Bugs gone, we head out to dinner. Upon returning, though, not only are the ant-like creatures back in full force in the bathroom, but now they've taken over the counter/desk. My wife makes a beeline for reception while I, once again, become an exterminator and pack up the few things we had out. She returns quickly with a key for a new room on a different floor, leaving me both frustrated and confused. P.S. To the curly brunette who yelled at me for bringing in food: I thought it was a lobby with a bar, not a restaurant. I wouldn’t have stopped there if I’d known. There’s a professional way to explain things, and then there’s the way you did it.

The hotel is in a very good location, the hall is very nice (enjoyable the idea to have a simple desk as desk, whereas you enter directly the bar hall. The room, though, was much tinier than the other Ibis I recently visited, and thanks God I didn't need the air conditioner because it is very obsolete and noisy. Breakfast is absolutely wonderful.
