Sofitel Essaouira Mogador Golf & Spa 5 stars

We had a great experience at the hotel.The staff was excellent and issues with air conditioning was taken care of immediately.Breakfast was very good.

Paid a lot of money expecting Sofitel standards. Disgusted and disappointed beyond words. Loveholidays should not be selling this hotel. And it's definitely far from being a 5star hotel. Got here an hour ago and I wish I could get on the next flight back to my clean home.

The hotel is quite run down and in dire need of renovation; which, the hotel management seems to agree on as there are renovations going on all. day. long. It is very loud and annoying; for a five star hotel this is unacceptable. Why not close down and reopen? After asking repeatedly they stopped the hammering (this was in the afternoon after coming back to the room). They did offer me a different room though, which was at the far end of everything. Not very convenient but yes, probably quieter. At least they tried to be accommodating. One pool is closed and the other is - meh - ok. There is moss growing on the walls. Breakfast buffet is good - nice pastries. The dinner buffet the first night was horrible, the second night it was alright. I guess it depends on the dishes. However, for the price I‘d have to say it is not worth it. Sadly there seem to be no other options around in the area except for in town. The staff overall are very nice and try their best under the circumstances.

Great property, great service, clean rooms, various breakfast items. Staff goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Spa is not too expensive and offers a variety of choices - I will definitely come back when in Morocco!

What a disappointment! This hotel charged us three times for the airport transfers, we emailed 3 times, called twice and they hung up on us every time. The hotel looks beautiful, but scratch beneath the surface and you will see how tired it is, the walls and floors are scratched, the spa facilities are out of order, and the doors are stuck or get stuck from the humidity. The mattresses are old and sink in the middle. Food - The breakfast and dinner buffet are very poor. However, the pool side restaurant serves very good food and the staff are great. The young staff at reception are very busy asking you to name them on trip advisor but not doing their job… no wonder we were charged 3 times for airport transfer and had to explain how dinner reservations work. Lastly, two pools out of 3 were not cleaned, and the main pool has tiles so old, I cut my feet on them. And some of the garden/balcony furniture is a bit damp. Wouldn’t go back.
