A great base to enjoy Strasbourg with a comfortable, roomy apartment. Basic kitchen facilities adequate for breakfast, snacks and simple meals. Reception staff very helpful and attentive.

This aparthotel is part of the Accor chain of hotels and you can always get a better price if you are a member of their loyalty scheme. This hotel is centrally located and easy to get to from the main train station (walking) or by tram. The Homme de Fer tram stop is just down the street so you can get to pretty much anywhere in Strasbourg very easily and cheaply. Our room was a good size with one half taken up with the bed and the other with the kitchenette and a desk/table. The kitchenette is well stocked and comes with a dishwasher, fridge and a filter coffee machine; there is a welcome pack that includes some dishwasher tabs etc. There is also a TV and good WiFi. The reception is not staffed 24hours and most times of the day you need your room keycard to let you into the foyer and your room. The bathroom and toilet are separate which we prefer. Despite being on a main road with trams (we were at the front of the building) our room was very quiet. Our room was clean and tidy when we arrived.

We had a very poor first impression of this hotel, with random people at reception, but no actual receptionist, and a young woman lounging about and chewing gum. Not a good look! It’s probably the least professional hotel reception I’ve ever encountered. Our studio apartment, however, was huge, with a spacious bathroom (even a bath), an adequate kitchen and lots of storage room. Beware, though - the bath surface was dangerously slippery and is in need of some non-slip treatment. We enjoyed the shared courtyard. The property is in a great location, only a 10-minute walk to the railway station and within easy reach of all the good stuff in the old town.

We wanted a place for our family of 4 to stay somewhere on the Grand Ile while in Strasbourg. This place was fantastic! Great location. We had a suite with ample room and a kitchenette. Check in/out was seamless. AND…air conditioning in June was *especially* appreciated!

Adagio Place Kléber nails the most important hotel requirement: location. From here, it’s an easy walk to the Cathedral by day and to the Petite France district by night for dinner and ambience. And if you enjoy a spot of shopping between historical strolls, being a minute’s walk from Uniqlo, Primark and Monoprix may be oddly memorable. The building is historic, but not uniform. Some rooms are surprisingly spacious, others noticeably small, so it’s worth checking the specifics before booking. This isn’t a conventional hotel despite its 4-star tag (which seems to be handed out with a baguette these days). It’s more of a serviced apartment in style, complete with kitchenette, dishwasher and minimal housekeeping. You won’t get a freshly made bed each day, but you will get a microwave and dishwasher tabs. Reception is informal and low-key. A hipster on duty will check you in within minutes and answer questions with cheer and surprising competence. Just note that reception physically moves floors depending on the hour – mornings on the first floor, back to the ground by mid-afternoon. The building is secure, and they’re generous with extra key cards if needed. Breakfast is simple but sufficient – a mix of scrambled eggs, sausages, hams, cheese, fruit, bread and decent coffee machines. The outdoor area is a bonus in good weather. A few small touches would elevate the experience (non-frozen butter and proper jam bowls, for instance), but the staff keep things tidy and efficient. Rooms have high ceilings and a touch of flair, though the lighting is odd – a sort of filtered-glow-from-behind-curtains effect that’s more moody than practical. Still, while some corners feel dated, the overall impression is functional and quietly modern. Bathrooms are up-to-date, though shower pressure could use a boost and the bath step might pose a challenge to anyone less sprightly. A word on parking: there isn’t any. You’ll need to use the public parking nearby. It’s just 150m away, but getting there by car is an urban mini-adventure. There’s only one correct road into the garage – miss it, and you’re in for a tour of Strasbourg’s one-way system. Set your GPS to Parking Indigo Strasbourg Kléber – Homme de Fer, not just Place Kléber. Expect to pay €44/day unless you show your hotel card, which brings it down to €28.
