Excellent option when taking Dieppe to Newhaven ferry

This hotel is in an excellent position next to the castle on the seafront. It is walkable from the station but we took a taxi arriving after dark with a lot of luggage. The twin room did not have a sea view but was pleasant and spacious and decorated in a nautical theme. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. We did not have breakfast but if you do book breakfast it is served upstairs in a room with a panoramic sea view. We had croque Monsieurs from the snack menu which were very good. They also make a decent pot of tea with a jug of cold milk here! The staff were exceptionally friendly and the receptionist kindly booked us a taxi to the ferry terminal. Normally this would be walkable but there are works going on and a bridge is shut meaning it is a longer detour to get round to the ferry port. We will definitely consider returning to this hotel next time we take the Dieppe to Newhaven ferry.

We arrived in Dieppe at 06:30 on a dark November morning off the ferry, too early to check into our Ebooking flat. . We were drifting about with our luggage tired and hungry until the Tourist Office in the harbour recommended the Mercure Hotel. The concierge stored all our bags. The restaurant on fourth floor had beautiful view of lido, castle etc Food was varied and plentiful (smoked salmon, passion fruit, boil your own eggs) and more importantly they served excellent organic English breakfast tea in a pot. One doesn’t need to be resident to take breakfast here and we just walked in. Children ten or younger go free. Brek was €18.50 pp We lingered in the restaurant and lobby for ages without pressure.

Great Location right in the center of Dieppe close to beach and all tourist sites. Charming town and nice hotel. Room had a great view and bed was very comfortable. Room was not large and shower was basically in the bedroom which was a bit strange. Good amenities were provided. The breakfast was an additional charge and was very tasty with a good selection of food. Hotel staff was friendly and nice. Would stay here again.

Short holiday in Normandy.

We stayed in one of the privilege rooms on top floor. The view of the sea front was excellent. The bed (width 6 feet) was very comfortable. Bath robes useful. TV fine with many channels including BBC World. The window did open about 6 inches for fresh air, but A.C. works well. Perhaps China cups & water glasses could be provided instead of paper cups. Very good choice of food at breakfast Reception staff very friendly. We will be back next year.

We were 2 couples and booked 2 rooms for 3 nights for the Bastille day july weekend. We arrived on the 12th . The gentleman at the reception was excellent and very helpful. The strength of this hotel is definitely the staff. From reception to house keeping through the breakfast staff, all were extremely friendly. As mentioned in previous reviewers, the brekfast is simply excellent. Proper Orange juice, proper coffee, big food choice.....and the views...made that morning moment wonderful. The bedroom, although very clean and the bed comfortable, was very bare. AC was very good. My 2 main critiscism are the lack of plugs. There was only one spare plug on one side only of the bed. The other was on the wall opposite the bed. The third one was in the entrance hall by the bathroom at floor level. There were no USB plugs at all. Our friends were recharging one of their phones on the floor in the entrance. The second slight let down was the size of the towels. They were small and looked cheap. Not what you expect in a 4* hotel. I would certainly recommend this hotel for the overall package and above it all its extremely friendly staff
