This novohotel shares the same building with an ibis budget, and offers worse services than the most basic hotel in the Accor chain. Employees do not receive the most basic and elementary training. I will explain. Look at this situation: I was leaving the hotel garage, late to go to the airport to catch an international flight, and there was an employee standing in her car next to the gate, which wouldn't open. After waiting a few minutes and honking the horn, I went to her and politely asked her to reverse so I could get out. She said she couldn't because there was a car parked behind her. I went to talk to him so he could back up, so she could clear the way, and he said it would be sorted out. Only then did I notice that they were both Novo Hotel employees, and were wearing their work uniform, each one, the man and the woman, in their own car. I waited a little longer and when the situation was not resolved, I asked both employees to back up to clear the exit, to which the guy in the car behind said that the situation would be resolved. As another 5 minutes passed and my family was already nervous and worried, I spoke to Ambis again and demanded that they clear the way out, as there was a problem with the woman's access card, which the man - hotel employee -he said he didn't like my tone of voice and that he wouldn't leave. I told him that I would go up to complain to the management and he replied that I could complain to the Pope and he would not leave. look: employees at the hotel, inside the hotel building (parking lot) disrupting the lives of guests who just want to get to the airport. In fact, 15 minutes had already passed! I then tried to leave through the garage entrance door, but I couldn't access the gate from the inside. My wife went to complain to management, but there was no manager. just a reception employee who went down to the garage and stood still, without action. Then, fortunately, someone from the garage appeared and opened the door for her and him, who left in their cars, hurriedly, without addressing the colleague who had come down to remedy the problem. Everything could have been resolved if they had had the good sense to not have obstructed the passage of an entire garage, with more than 4 floors, when the exit was denied. I've never seen anything like this, in the hundreds of hotels I've stayed in in my life, from the most diverse categories and cultural backgrounds. Novohotel Malaga, an experience to be avoided!

More an IBIS than a Novotel

After fantastic stays in Novotel Madid amd Seville for which I gave 5 star reviews, we booked this Novotel with confidence but were so disappointed. It's more an Ibis (see attached photo with toilet door marked WC like a public toilet). Breakfast was small (unlike other Novotels we have stayed at). On a positive note, the location was great, 5 min walk into city centre. But at more than EUR200 a night this was way too expensive. We were planning a 9 night stay at Novotel in Mumbai but may have to look elsewhere.

Very basic not 4 star as advertised. Booked two rooms.!Stale smell in room & problem with toilet flush so water kept running. Overpriced for what it is. I wouldn’t recommend unless available at a cheap price. 4 star price for 2/3 star quality.

Absolutely dreadful. The cards for the rooms don’t work & when you ask for them to be fixed the staff are annoyed & try to blame you for the card not working. The breakfast is sketchy & my colleague had a cockroach in her room & had to move rooms in the middle of the night. The Wifi for the room also doesn’t work & when enquiring why I was told to prove to a member of staff that it is not working.

Most important point - we will stay here again when we return to Malaga if they have rooms available! Pleasant tourist hotel. The rating is relative to the hotel class and price - luxury hotels of course exist and are nicer but in my experiences in Europe, this is a 'best in class.' Nice spacious and clean rooms. Excellent and helpful staff and everyone had a high level of English so we could forego our poor Spanish. The staff helped us extend our reservation through a fully booked Saturday night AND found a way to keep us in the same rooms.
