A bad experience

This hotel looks shabby on the outside but slightly better inside. The major issues are: - stains on the bed - shower missing a door - no children’s cots/beds Most of all, be aware this hotel forces you to pay 17 pounds a night for parking! This is a total rip off and not mentioned anywhere. All in all, consider this hotel if your out for a stag do and you don’t mind the state of the place. Avoid with a family, car, holiday or city break.

Convenient Location on main road with car park at rear. Staff friendly and willing but lack of training apparent in many areas. • Fire Alerts badly handled with no sign of what to do or how to communicate with guests. • Room servicing inconsistent with instances of failure to: remove champagne flutes, wine cooler, change towels, restock minibar, or make beds adequately. • During road closure for marathon event, incorrect and unsafe instructions given regarding temporary traffic arrangements for leaving the hotel. • Reception staff unable to provide details of complaints policy, email address for complaints or name of head office person to address complaints to.

We did have an unfortunate incident regarding the deliberate activation of the fire alarms leading to a rather unique set of circumstances for the team to manage. Great hotel very close to everything in Bristol! Staff are great and accommodating! Great hotel if you want a pool and easy access to the centre! Would stay again! They have a gym that you can use! Parking in the hotel is £17 for 24 hours but it’s convenient

Unsafe, rude.

The first night we stayed here everything was good, however the second night we were awoken at 3am to a fire alarm that didn’t stop for 3 hours so we were awake until ridiculous hours of the morning. Everyone was out of there rooms and clearly disturbed. It turns out somebody broke the fire alarm but they had no procedures in place to fix it & there was no clear message to anyone that it was safe to enter the building or what was going on at all. The morning after this we went to the reception to enquire about some form of compensation however they basically turned their noses up at us and said there is nothing they can do. We are exhausted and so is everyone else. On top of this, we were then awoken AGAIN at 10am by housekeeping (check out is 12pm) who then proceeded to open the door and come in the room when me and my partner are in bed! Absolute joke! No privacy and really just feels violating and unsafe. Staff clearly don’t give a ****

The system was not in fact broken some -one was activating the call points which sets the alarm system in to full evacuation mode. Unfortunately this happened on more than one occasion. In the morning our team certainly dealt with guests understandably upset guests. I have shared your comments with the relevant manager so they can where necessary take remedial actions. I am writing this at 4 in the morning after being woken up by numerous alarms going off due to some kids playing with the doors or something. Thankfully my 5 year old daughter is still fast asleep but she doesn’t have to drive home in a few hours! But even before this happened I wasn’t sure. There is no one to get any snacks from and I wasn’t even able to buy a bottle of still water to bring to my room. The TV didn’t work so we changed rooms but I couldn’t even get a news channel. And there are no tea making facilities in the room either so not even a couple of biscuits to snack on! It seems like there is only one person on reception and you can only communicate with them via WhatsApp! This isn’t a budget hotel so I really was expecting a little more. Staff seemed on the whole nice

We do have a reduced team at night however guests can get some drinks and snacks. In all of bedrooms usually in the wardrobes there are tea and coffee making facilities.
